Sky Sports understands that Liverpool have agreed terms with Sunderland for England international midfielder Jordan Henderson.

The Reds have been locked in talks with their Premier League counterparts for several days after making their in initial approach last week.

The two clubs have been haggling over the valuation of the 24-year-old, who will undergo a medical with the Merseyside giants on Wednesday.

It is understood that the deal that has been agreed is worth £20million and it will include David N'Gog moving in the opposite direction, subject to him agreeing terms on Wearside.

The French striker will hold talks with the North East club, while Henderson brokers his move to Anfield.

Henderson is due to link up with England Under-21 squad ahead of the European Championships which begins this weekend, and both clubs are eager for the move to be completed before then.

Sunderland wanted £20 Mil, the way I'm looking at it is we've paid £13 Million and gave them a player who'd be in our reserves next season.

And yeah he's only 20

Phil Jones is signing for Utd. Great signing for them but I don't really see the point from Jones' point of view.

He turned Arsenal down when he could fit straight into there starting 11 next season, to sit on the bench/play for the reserves at Utd.

Sunderland make offers for 3 United players ( two are Wes Brown and Darron Gibson). They're not naming the third, I suspect it's Danny Welbeck which they'll get told no because Sir Alex wants to keep him!

If we're getting rid of him though then we'll need to replace him as we'll have a lack of attacking midfield options.
