Coronation Street and Emmerdale have schedule changes on the way for the week that Simon Cowell's new gameshow Red or Black airs on ITV1.

An extra Coronation Street episode will be airing on Sunday, September 4 at 8pm and the Weatherfield soap then moves out of its normal slots for the rest of the week - including airing some more post-watershed episodes.

With a Euro 2012 qualifier between England and Wales also in the mix, Emmerdale is affected too and won't be airing a Tuesday episode that week, but there's hour-long editions to make up for the disruption.

9.00pm - Coronation Street

Tuesday, September 6
No ITV soaps airing tonight.

Wednesday, September 7

9.00pm - Coronation Street

Thursday, September 8
7.00pm - Emmerdale
9.00pm - Coronation Street

Friday, September 9
7.00pm - Emmerdale
7.30pm - Coronation Street
9.00pm - Coronation Street

Funny how the ITV soaps always have to change schedule when a Simon Cowell show is airing.

Cowell is probably more powerful than anyone at ITV so they must have no choice but to change the schedule to suit him.

I don't think Corrie will push the boundaries too much for fear of upsetting the PC brigade...

I think they'd still err on the side of caution if it's rape and go post watershed
