I'm not a fan of hearing the views of any musician, in the same way I wouldn't want politicians doing music reviews or footballers telling me about how scientific breakthroughs might affect me. Coincidentally, I am not a fan of Morrissey or of the Smiths.

It may not be a popular view, it may not be the majority view, but no one can deny him his right to say how he feels...The media reacting with personal insults is wrong imo.

I thin the personal insult thing is to be expected though. Like things get exaggerated in the public eye and such, so the reaction from the media is going to be amplified. Insults are more easily thrown at the famous because people won't likely have to deal with the other person taking them up on it if you get me?

Sigh... That isn't quite what I said. I neither support nor oppose his views, I'm just not interested in what he has to say. You think Morrissey has credence simply because he's not a politician? He's in the unique position of being able to air any view that pops into his head and because he's famous and his fans will immediately take up the banner. Just because he isn't a politician doesn't make him right.

Im just defending his right to free speech, are you suggesting that those who support a musician will automatically agree with their opinion on any given subject... Why would you think that?

Livia i was only being lighthearted, I did read what you posted the fact that you work in politics has relevance to this thread,but dont feel i have made an issue of it. Im not sure what you found rude in anything I have said, if you point it out I will try to explain.
