Default why dont you kids play conkers anymore??

When i was a kid i used to love going out collecting conkers, this is prime conker collecting time now!! .. but i dont see any kids going out conkering. Half the fun was going out with your mates, finding a conker tree, and throwing sticks at the tree to get to the conkers, or, even better, climbing the tree, and shaking the sh*it out of a branch until it rained down conkers!..and the fun of peeling off the green outer casing and finding a "beauty".

i did'nt go big on the game of conkers itself, but i loved collecting them.. what do kids do today... PS2's X boxes, .. .. actually, thats far better than collecting stupid conkers.. i wish i was a child of the 90's, growing up in the 60's was sh*t !

I used to play conkers at primary school a bit, I remember in Years 7, 8 and 9, after swimming we always walked passed this conker tree.
One day me and my mates decided it would be funny to lob them at eachother, and I remember lobbing this conker and it hitting some kid right on the head.
Great shot!

One of the reasons that kids don't play conkers anymore is that some schools have banned it because of the risk of eye injuries!

See HERE.

Madness!

Well it's been banned in most schools due to injuries so I guess the kids just grew out of it.

Conkers were so cool! Although it was always really hard to get a string through them. Were they were really banned? Thats a bit silly although I suppose it better to be safe then sorry

I remember playing conkers in junior school but people kept missing and whacking people's fingers and they banned them.

Conkers were great fun when they weren't moaned about, in the end so many schools had them banned kids stopped playing with them altogether because that was one of the main places they were used.
