![]() Lately I've been seeing a lot of religious hate from homosexual members around the UK, in response to the London Bus's campaign thing that was dropped. The banner at this top is a mock up of what someone made on Facebook. I think this is a bit disgraceful, if you are going to produce a message that opens peoples minds on homosexuality, its very hypocritical to then post a narrow minded comment about religion. If you want equality they have to treat people with equality, whether they are religious or not. Some people are gay get over it, some people are religious get over it. Simple. You can't generalise a whole group of people based on a few extremists that go that extra mile with their beliefs, we hate it when we get stereotyped on a few homosexuals that go out in women clothing then the public assumes we're all like that, so why would you do that to another minority group? On another note, being labelled as the person you are isn't so bad, as you CANT choose what person you are, It doesn't mean your going to get treated differently. The problem lies where people label themselves as something they have CHOSEN to be, like 'emo' or 'goth' then complain that their not getting the same as everyone else, because they can CHOOSE whether or not to be that sort of person. e.g. being gay is subjective, because it's on the inside so in most situations, despite what you think, you wont defiantly know if a person is gay unless you ask them, so it is unfair to put a label on them unless you don't know for certain. So you wont be able to describe them as being a homosexual unless you know them. Being black or asian is objective, because you can clearly see if someone is black or asian without asking them, therefore you can clearly go 'oh they were black and had a white shirt on' you cant CHOOSE to be in these groups, you just are - which is why labelling yourself as to what you are is okay, (like baked beans are labelled baked beans cos thats what they are) but labelling yourself to what you've chosen to be then moaning about it is not okay. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, i just felt the need to say it! haha. |

I agree. This type of debate always gets very emotional and hypocritical.

I agree with you, no group should be targeted, we're suppose to be a multicultural country for god sake.

People's sexuality, beliefs and religion should be nobody else's business but their own. As long as they don't interfere with me or my life, I'm happy for people to do what makes them happy.

thats right, no one should disrespect any beliefs. The only people who I KNOW who bash other beliefs are atheist themselves which is ironic since there the ones telling catholics they shouldnt tell them what to believe in ( if that makes sense lol )
