He has done what other smart people have done in the past and got himself in a relationship to ensure he stays for a long stretch of the show, and possibly come out of it with a few magazine interviews

100% spot on.

From the very first night both of them were sussing out the options, Luke seemed to be looking in Laurens direction first, then they got together, its a tried and tested game plan, John James and Josie did exactly the same. They won't last longer than a few months on the outside. I don't like either of them, but if magazines and tv shows are willing to throw money at them, then its human nature to make the most of it.

I'd have loved one whole series of BB with NO showmances.
