Default How the heck did this series get so good?

I have been enjoying the show very much this year and think it already shamed the horrendous BB12. But when Lydia went I said to myself as I left for a holiday a week ago "well, it might get boring now..."

Wrong!

Holy **** was this week good, topped by a superb task and eviction. The housemates have been good so far but the way that the best task done yet on C5 added to the drama was the icing on the cake. The production team are finally back up to par with that one, keep it up. I just watched most of the week and came away saying "wow, welcome back Big Brother!"

This week we got drama, we got fun, we got divides and turns and nice people winning over the arrogant "Team Nasty" in one of the best popularity turns arounds in BB history in Deena. But to see the housemates suffering, and being really punished and cracking as a result because they have been pampered so far was just great. This week just had a dark feeling to it, a serious nature that has not been seen in quiet some time. Big Brother was evil again

Once I get past the pink and blue glam and some of the editing (though it continues to drastically tone down) this really is entering favorite series territory for me. And the fact I actually have got to know this years HM's somewhat and really route for a hand full of them shows how much CH5's BB has improved.

Just great, I actually am hyped for Big Brother for a way that I haven't been since Big Brother 7.

I agree with all of it except "evil BB", they've been pussies this year.

Much better this week than the last two years combined. I just hope they keep it up.

It's the housemates that are making it evil BB. Shame BB can't be on the same level or higher. I'm loving it though, surely a top 5 at least for me maybe even my top 3 depending on the rest of the series.

really great week. Im also loving this series a lot, seems to gradually get better day after day. We have some classic villains and I'm glad the production has decided to not really follow the ashleigh/luke fauxmance, pushing it into the background. The general divide has made it quite exciting.

Agreed - this season is actually getting better as it goes along.

And with this short time frame they cannot possibly ruin it by introducing new HMs (completely destroying the premise and all earned dynamics),
so,
Yeah... hang on - there is a helluva lot left in there!

I've really loved this series and look forward to each it night. It's such a shame that this is the best series since BB7 and it's also the shortest. We'll take what we can!

The only complaint (apart from minor details like the musical montages and Marcus' inflated sense of self-importance with his ridiculous narration changes - he used to say what was happening, not provide opinions) I can think of is that I'd like a little bit of a kick up the arse for the housemates.

I think next week, or the week after, needs to be a double eviction. One a week is too few, and at this rate we're going to be too congested for the final. The best solution would be to put up every housemate and watch as some driftwood like Ashleigh and Shievonne go (or whoever the two least popular are; I don't think any of my favourites are particularly close to that except maybe Sara, who I can live without).

I don't think next week will be a double eviction because half the house won't have nominated. I think the week after (Day 46) would be the perfect time for it.

And I should add that I've enjoyed this series to this point more than any series since BB7 - yes, that includes BB10 - as it's kept my attention every night. C5 is really firing on all cylinders with this one.

A swallow doesnt make a summer.
Last night was a rare blast from the past good triumphed over evil. The old magic was there but it was a fleeting glimpse of what could of been.

The problems that bb on C5 have are not allowing us to watch what could well be a great series of big brother it might be amazing or it might be very average we have no way of ever knowing.
Who goes C5 decide.
How could we ever know if its a good series when we have gone from 168 hours of live coverage per week to an average of 214 seconds per week so far for this series?

This years Big Brother has been brilliant, without a doubt the best one for a number of years!. Its the characters in the house none of them really get on with one another, they are all in their to win!, it makes great tv.

The split between the two camps is fantastic, you got two diffferent groups that just don't get on!. it would be a nightmare to live in their but as a tv viewer its brilliant to watch!

in the heat of the moment things always seem better than they are. This is an average series at best imo.
