After watching the latest drama in the house unfold throughout the past weeks, has your opinion changed on British people? Or do you still think we're your posh, tea with the queen guys who cry when they get a paper cut?

![]() I don't think any of those things about British people, by the way. If anything, it's easier to judge Americans based on the American BB, because we still have 24/7 live feed so you can get to know the housemates better.

LOL, you are all still posh in our eyes.. have you seen BB USA? the brits would have to rip eachother to shreds to beat the trashiness and competitiveness thats on the american version.

I don't think it is fair to generalize anything based on this show. Let's face it, only people who are not all there or instant fame hungry would go into this house. So to say thsi is representation of UK is taking it a bit too far.
I am however surprised to say the least, reading some of the views on forums and other places by the viewers, who find things like bullying and demeaning women funny. However, I assume that many just say that to get a reaction from others on that forum or FB or whatever. I would want to believe that they are not genuinely alright with such things and if they are, one has insanity in every country, so nothing new there? The funny thing is, one tends to forget that this is just another Reality TV show, and no matter how much one would like to believe, the producers do manipulate the audience by showing bits and pieces out of 24 hours crammed into not even 1 hour that they think would make an impact. So the fact that most get so passionate is kind of funny and insane. That said, I do not watch the show, because it got too negative and frankly, I don't think I need that in my life. I do however, read and see relevant stuff on Bit on the side on YT! Not all Americans are Snooki and Paris Hilton and not all Americans think that you guys are Hugh Grant and Dame Judi Dench or for that matter Conor or Ashleigh. The ones who have been to UK know better. ![]() ETA - SmartAlec made my point first! Last edited by JoshR; 07-07-2012 at 05:44 PM. |

BBUS is basically 3 full months of Surivor after the tribes have merged, but with air conditioning.

Well, after TPTB made sure that Boston Rob won somehow and kept bringing him back, I stopped watching Survivor as well. I saw last season of BBUK sparingly and liked Aaron a lot. So watched while the fun lasted, when it got intense, switched off. Bit on the Side is way better, you get what you need to know without feeling sick.

Being Canadian, somewhere between British and American, and having watched the show for about 5 seasons, the only observation that I have drawn about the great british public from this show is the regional bias that goes on in voting. Certain housemates have stayed or gone over the years due to accent of small dialact differences. "Posh" people are always voted out, or never win, regardless of how great they are as housemates (ie Ben or Harry). Pretty Essex contestants stay on but for what reason I can never see, and the British public always seem to back the underdog in the end.
Casting usually involves one set type from various counties or regions, and I like this because it gives me a greater insight into the diversity of Britian. And as has been said, BBUK is a far cry away from the baseness that is BBUS, but it is slowly creeping in that direction.

the shows are different but the people are literally the same...same cliques, gripes, discussions, theres been us versions of arron, conor, deana, sara et al, i forget which one im watching till the booze starts flowing on bbuk (they dont allow them to drink more than a beer or two on bbus, boo!) bbus ain't all bad, theres tons of drama (sometimes) and 24/7 feeds you can go wrong

Seeing as I lived in London I always fight against the posh stereotype most Americans have of the British.

BBUK is good for what it is, but BBUS is better overall though the past couple seasons have been dire
