Default WR - Adam exclusion could be perceived as racist...

BB said that the 4 who received the least noms for eviction were eligible to go into the White Room. They could have said choose the 3 from the whole 5 who were not up for eviction - but Adam alone gets left out in the cold - why? He was the one left adrift between the ones who got the least noms and the ones who got the most.
Why was he alone excluded from a chance to enter the White Room? This could be perceived as racist. I wonder what Adam will make of that when it is revealed that someone in the WR waltz's off with 50K and he was left out deliberately?

The whole whiteroom idea was a total washout, boring and pointless,it would be great for Adam to win off his own merit and not from a shove up from BB,he'de probably prefer that anyway. To be voted the winner by the public must be much more rewarding.

Is that a normal expression in the UK?

Coincidence. As coolface said, allegations like this trivialises real racism.

I find the term "PC Brigade" is used mostly by people defending casual racism. If being a member of the "PC Brigade" refers to people who are against racists, then I am happy to be a member of it and not use a patronising, insensitive term like 'coloured' to describe someone.

Okay, I take all your points on board, and I see that this thread could be seen as trivializing racism.
I thought it was an interesting point because I felt bad for Adam being left out for no discernible reason and I would love to know why he WAS left out.
Sorry if I have offended anyone!

In combination with the recent comment on the Conor's gf thread, define "casual"

People who feel no sense of shame in referring to other races and cultures as if they are inferior as if it is their right.

I think the point is that "Coloured" used to be the PC term for "Black", then the rules changed. This is why people are continually confused about the right things to say.

You see it all the time in sports commentary - I remember watching a UFC fight where one commentator was trying to describe the fighters who were wearing the same colour shorts, same height, build etc. He was pointing out things like slightly different hair and a bit of red detailing on shorts when the other commentator cut in "Let's make this simple, he's the black dude!". This has become such a touchy subject that everyone is scared of saying the wrong thing.

We used to call mentally disabled people "Spastics", due to there being a "Spastics Society" dedicated to caring for the mentally disabled, this then became un-PC and evil to say as well. It's the same principal - a generation use the term most common when they grow up, then some liberal group decide that term is wrong and a new one must be used, it's not the fault of that generation that the "rules" forever change. They aren't always being spiteful or bigoted, just using the accepted language that they learned.
