I've said this for a long time. The crowd is Channel 5's very own rent-a-mob, hired to create atmosphere and intrigue. Also, to worry the housemates.

I mean look: it's all a con where audiences are concerned. The same blinkin' people appear on BBBOTS all the time.

I know they fill the bbbots audience with some right drois, can't beleive they're going to be allowed in the same room as Julie

A very much deserved response from the crowd. I like it as it lets the people in the house know what is gouing on, in a fashion.
And as for "poor" old Julie, if you dish it out then you have to be prepared to take it as well.

The hard faced, foul mouthed, vulgar, uncouth old has been comes across very chavvy and to call her a national treasure is an insult to the nation.

The crowd need to be completely shut off from the interview part of the show. Close the eye-door completely.

I've quite given up on the possibility of them not booing every single Housemate to show a hint of bitching.

And as for the way they treated Julie last night it was just discusting. They make me sick treating a national treasure like that. I say call the police and lock them all up. When I saw poor Julie being subjected to a mob of morons shouting 'Get Julie Out!' I was absolutly deverstated. I've been in tears on and off since seeing that spectical, I've not been able to eat and got little sleep last night. What is wrong with these people? What resonable person thinks it's right to chat at a 70 year old woman who just wants to be nice? She's just julie FFS!
Blimey, serious stuff!! I thought they got it right. Julie has plunged down the 'likeability' ratings recently, and danica was NEVER likeable. A week ago I thought coleen was more likely to get boos. But she has 'outed' the almost pathetic Julie (that makeup was attrocious, did coleen apply it for her) ??

In the US and Austrailia the crowd just listens to the host talk to the hgs and laugh if they hear something funny and usually cheer a hm on their way out, even if they're hated (On the US version, you can tell how popular a hg was when they go back to the house after a eviction and you can hear the cheers for the hgs thru the wall since there's usually a crowd the size of a bots crowd at the evictions, since the evictee walk from the house into the eviction studio).
For the love of Gawd, Great British Public, please DO NOT ever, ever, ever favorably compare the US version in anyway to your own. The US BB once was not too bad but is now over-produced garbage led by a woman who long ago threw away anything related to Big Brother and who would rather be producing the Batchelor. The "audience" simply follows the prompts. The host is personality-free with no actual interest in the show. On the upside, still have the live feed but that simply serves the confirm for us how bad the televised shows now are. Thank goodness for You Tube and Channel 5 for allowing us the see an entertaining version of BB the way it should be, unruly audience and all.

Once again can I reminder all members that this is a forum to discuss cbb, and not insult Adele
But you said you want no crowds because they should have NO outside contact. Make your mind up! And i haven't insulted you so rolling your eyes at me is a pointless exercise!!!

you really don't get it. There have been more than enuf reports from people actually at the live show that have told us how the producers manipulate the BBUK live audience. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Julie Chen is not "personality-free" you might not LIKE her personality, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have one. the Chen-BOT IS her personality and she's awesome. And she doesn't have any interest in the show? are you kidding? Julie Chen is obsessed with BB and loves it, and she LOVES the game.

I'm guessing that you are an American and you just have "the grass is greener" syndrome, because you obviously arn't being objective at all.

You're probably somewhat new to watching foreign BB's so it's all new and shiny and exciting for you.

BTW, not American but close. Canada is getting our own BB next year but I understand its being run by the geniuses who have brought us the Yank version. So it's coming pre f'd up.

It's odd that the BB crowd doesn't always seem to be representative of the public vote as it used to be pprior to last year's BB show.

I's put that down to some sort of skewing of votes via Facebook, because I couldn't understand how anyone could have actually liked and supported the insufferable Aaron.

When BB stopped accepting votes via Facebook, I thought that must be the reason, but now I really don't know why things have changed.

I just hope the crowd is representative of public opinion on the Julie question, as I wouldn't know what to do with myself if she actually proved to be popular!

You''re not getting your own, you'r getting a spin off. Like all things Canadian, always just a spin off of the American version. Well I shouldn't say always, sometimes it's the spin off of the French version. lol

I enjoy it though, i'm looking forward to BB CAnada, the Real Housewives of Vancouver was good.

I think this has more to do with it being a vote to save rather than a vote to evict rather than the vehicle used for voting. Had last year been a vote to evict, Aaron would not have made it more than a few weeks. He was very polarizing -- both the most popular and most unpopular housemate. So the boos made perfect sense as did him winning. We did not see this effect quite as much in this year's BB because there were more two person evictions where the impact of vote to save is much reduced. IMO

It seems obvious now that you've explained it.

I thought they'd introduced the vote to save system just to make more money from voters' calls and hadn't thought through the other implications.

I don't think they should be banned but I think some control is required over them.
As it is, they are so far removed from what they chant and how the real important people who actually vote do that it is in the main, the crowd themselves who look petty, childish, ridiculous and irrelevant.
