South Australian musician Josh Moore has quit the Nine Network's Big Brother after the sudden death of his brother, Toby.
A Nine Network spokeswoman says Moore was told of the death last night and was taken out of the house to be with his parents Caroline and Terry.
Moore was one of the favourites to win Big Brother and had never been put up for eviction during his two months in the Gold Coast compound.
The Southern Star production team and the Nine Network have expressed their sympathy to the family and asked the fans of Big Brother and the media to allow them privacy at this time.

It's believed Moore's 32-year-old brother died from a heart attack.

BIG Brother favourite Josh Moore has chosen to leave the competition after the tragic sudden death of his brother, Toby.

The Adelaide surfer was given the shattering news late yesterday, with his parents allowed into the show's Captain's Quarters to tell their son of his 32-year-old only sibling's shock passing.

He moved out of the Big Brother house to stay with his devastated parents, Terry and Carolyn last night before informing producers he would leave the program to go home to support them at this sad time.

It is believed Toby suffered a suspected heart attack.

A Nine spokeswoman said: "The Southern Star production team and the Nine Network wish to express their sympathy to the family and ask fans of Big Brother and the media to allow them privacy at this time."


Further announcements about the BB shows are expected later today.

They did cancel the eviction and donated the money from the lines to a charity of Josh's family's choosing.

the eviction show will be an extended highlights show mainly focused on Josh.

This channel certainly does things differently to how things were done before. A bereavement in the seventh series didn't stop anything in the house including the eviction at the time. I don't really know why they are completely abandoning the task, hope they have something else to split the HMs up, though they really needed to do it far earlier in this series anyway.

Josh was a nice person I guess (from the very little we are shown now) but I didn't find him very memorable. I doubt his going affects the show that much, maybe it might slightly weaken Michael's position in the house.
