Organised religion is a system created by the rich, powerful & intelligent/educated to keep the masses in check. The earliest forms of religion were as simple as praising 'Mother Earth', the sun & the moon. Throw in a drought, particularly bad storm, earthquake, volcano etc. & the people thought that these 'Gods' were displeased with them. It didn't take long for someone with a little more smarts than most to realise this could be used to their own advantage. Hence most religions have an element of fear thrown in: keep the people scared & they're easier to control, because if we're not ever going to be judged on our action, if there's nothing more after this life, then the attitude is more likely going to be '****** it, what have I got to loose'.

Whilst I accept that religion can help some people, give them hope when really there is none, or a imaginary 'friend' with whom they can share their troubles, I find it sad that even now in the 21st century, people are so gullible as to allow themselves to be used by religion, for their money & even to murder. I will never forget the hypocrisy of the image of a army tank flying a flag with a crucifix on it as it rolled into a smashed & bloodied town.

Live your life by what is in your hart, not by what some ancient bullsh*t tells you!!!
