Is this a wind up? What a pointless thread. I suggest one of the admin guys to lock this thread.

It's not just asians unfortunately. Through my work, I am quite often involved with people coming to the UK from within Europe and especially from the eastern european states (poland, latvia etc, etc) who face terrible racism and discrimination simply cos they come from another country.

It's a sad state of affairs, although one good thing to come from this whole BB racism thing is that people may start to look at their own reactions to people from another country/culture and maybe even change their behaviour towards them.

This is a legitimate argument. Easy peasy, you have issues. Do you like to cover up things or sanely talk about them?

Thank you Slarti. Someone unafraid to state the observed.
I have friends of every ethnicity you can think of and am not a racist. I myself have different bloods and am proud of them all. However, my identity is certainly not based on these. I am ME.
What you are saying is true as I have also heard like stories. The irony is that most of the white people that you see are escended from eastern europeans and their ancestors came in search of a better life. So where is the understanding? Why champion humaine causes abroad when you can start right here.

Actually since Shilpas' stint in CBB there has been a huge amount of biasism towards Asian.

As I mentioned in another thread, my friend who works at the PERFUME SHOP had to endure some blasting from customers about asisn people in a derogative manner.
What did my friend do to deserve such a blasting in front of a dozen people. Having said that, what did Shilpa do to deserve her treatment?

THis perfume incident is sick but not rare. Some people undergo this everyay on the job. I am trying to get to the root of the problem. I know that jealousy is being displayed by lots of women. The thing is you have to ignore adn continue being you. I find that Asian women are extremely attractive and many times objects of jealousy as was magnified on big brother, also devious behaviour is exhibited by these jealous women as in bb.

OK. I'll attempt to answer the rather inappropriate question that you've posed.

I don't think that it's just Asians there is a xenophobia around the world and a general mistrust of anything the people are no accustomed to.

but neither are people acustomed to xenophobics. if you are around one yu must become uneasy then the other becomes more uneasy and it's a pendulum reaction and then boom, nobody knows anybody adn everyone is paranoid. We can't have an 18th century England adn that's the fact

its not rare, but the reason behind this lady who was blasting my friend was Shilpa!!! If Shilpa had not gone on CBB im sure my friend would not have got attacked like that.
And now my friend feels as though all "non asians stare at her more so because of this incident.

That just doesn't add up to me. Beides sharing the same colour as Shilpa, my friend has no connection to Shilpa.
And in the time my friend has been working in the PF she has never endured this kind of backlash.

Personally I think that it's the whole clash of a non white person being elevated in public. It scares some people who think they no longer can control. Racism is a way to control people adn when you can't you feel out of your depths and turn nasty. Don't be intimidated

Well its a sick thing to do. Shilpa got bullied on live TV and it was horrible to watch. My friend, an innocent person, randomly getting attacked when she is doing her job, was so unexpected, moreso because she is very gentle, soft spoken and very well mannered. I know that incident has left her feeling slightly shaken.

And that's not conjured up. That's according to statistical info. We just have t deal with it . However I have very wonderful english friends who do not fall into this catgory but they are wll travelled adn ducated about other cutures. The irony of Britain is that if you look around everything virtually is from other cultures. From architecture to makeup.

I don't think it is just Asian's... as "Starti..." said it is toward many other races too..

And it cannot be pin-pointed down to one thing, I think there are many reasons for it.

The UK has many racists, America has even more, I doubt I will ever live to see a day where it doesn't exist.

True, but those don't just come from nowhere, there are many reasons why those feelings develop...

The reasons for Racism is that the racists in the world are just iggnorant and feel threatened in some way by them so they choose to discriminte them by the colour of their skin, ethnicity, or origin.

Racism is wrong, it needs to be stopped and i think this show has made a step forward in making that happen.

GIVE RACISM THE RED CARD!

I have no idea...... i wish i was LIKED but i know its cos Im Indian that i am LOVED

On a serious note, anyone who HATES or DISLIKES someone cos they are from a different racial background is a RACIST and has issues

Luckily i was born and raised with morals to love all and i pity racist people....

Love who you are. When we die all frivolous social attatchements die with us. What is the point? When you love yourself, then and only then, can you love others completely.
