I agree about the pairings. Hazel's problem is that nobody believes that she is a nervous little girl who is easily petrified!

Her willingness to spend the night with Daley and climb into his bed the following morning has completely ruined her "terrified" claim.

Quite simply she is seen, by it seems a goodly proportion of viewers, as a liar and a homewrecker.

I couldn't care less if it affects the way others look at it. They win at the very end of the series, doesn't change how good or bad its been.
