Default One more call?,moral dilemma

Your name is sally, you are married to steve who is a delivery driver and you have a 11 year old son.

you have trust issues, you phone steve nearly every hour to check up on him, he loves you but has told you it has to stop as it is dangerous, but you cant stop yourself doing it.
its another day and you phone steve while he is driving, this causes him to get distracted and he knocks a boy off his bike, in a panic he drives off there are no witnesses as it is on a country lane.

he finishes work and you have a massive argument as he blames you for what happened, he does not intend to go to the police and report what happened.

later you read about the accident in the local paper, the boy was 11 year's old the same age as your son and has been paralyzed from the waist down.
no one will find out who hit the boy but because of this he wont get any money from the drivers insurance company to help him cope with being in a wheel chair for the rest of his life.

so?, do you phone the police and drop your husband in it? he will get three year's in prison and your marriage will be over, but the boy will get the money to help him cope with being paralyzed or do you live with your guilt?

I wouldn't want to be with somebody who was so bereft of morals that he would drive off and leave a small boy seriously injured in the road. Driving away from an accident that you've caused without stopping is a crime. Withholding that could land you in prison as well as him. I'd shop him without even thinking about it.

He could have and should have ignored the phone whilst driving?

No question..I would tell him to hand himself in or I would phone the police and report him.

Sally needs to redeem herself a little by reporting the accident.
She also needs to tell them of her part in it, and maybe get help for her trust issues.

the pressure that he was under from sally made him answer the call even tho he knew it was wrong.

I want people to think about it from sally's point of view, she will lose her marriage, her own son will not see his dad for three years, her life will be ruined.

Ok, if I was this Sally this is what I would do:

Sit him down and explain to him how you understand how it happened and how I (Sally) are partly to blame. Then I would say to him both of us need to go to the Police and explain the situation and take whatever is coming to them. I would explain that if he refused, I would go myself and tell them the whole story.

You can't just ignore the law, actually never mind the law, you are both responsible for paralyzing and ruining a young boys life.

You keep saying how he will go to prison, his kids will miss their father etc. What about the young boy who is paralyzed for the rest of his life? He had no choice in the matter.

dont think I could live with the guilt so would have to hand him in even though I was the reason he was distracted.
