From Sky News
Star Tracked Down In Delhi Updated: 14:01, Monday February 26, 2007 Jade Goody has spoken exclusively to Sky News after making a surprise visit to India, following the Celebrity Big Brother race row. The star made headlines around the world when she allegedly racially bullied Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty in the reality TV house. Correspondent Alex Crawford tracked down Goody in New Delhi. Looking relaxed, she said: "Obviously I've said my apologies. I'm here on a private visit and I'm having meetings with certain people." She arrived in India declaring she was "trying to put the Big Brother stuff behind me". Shilpa Shetty during show The star - who chose to travel on the Indian airliner Jet Airways - said she had already spent the first few hours of her trip travelling around the capital as a tourist. "I am here on a strictly private visit," she told Sky News. "I could have had my entire trip paid for and the people travelling with me could have been paid for but I didn't want that. "I am paying for the trip and all the expenses myself. I don't want to be seen to be making money out of what happened." Asked whether she was here to do a deal with an Indian television company in an attempt to rehabilitate her floundering career, her agent Sally Andrews said: "No, this is not a business trip. It is strictly private." Jade in one of her rants They also denied they would be meeting Indian politicians during the four-day visit. On being asked whether the row over her treatment of Shetty had "blown over", the former dental nurse said she didn't want to "make light of what had happened" but things were getting better. She said: "'I only got two hate mail (after the show). People are being all right to me." Goody and her agent were returning from visiting a monument in New Delhi and remarked there had been a "good response" from the Indian public to her presence. At the height of the row, the Indian tourist board in London issued an open invitation to her to come to the country to find out for herself about the culture and the people. Goody has been to India before - to do research on her own brand perfume called Ssssh! The bottling factory is in Mumbai. |

MUTHA*****A!!!!!!
I've just watched that video and the magnitude of it is starting to turn my stomach. I feel vindicated. All the people who chastised me for being too harsh on Jade. Did you see her? Brazen as ever. So, it was all a pack of lies: The breakdown, the rehab, the supposed end of her career, the end of her relationship with Jack, the threats and the fear. All lies. SON OF A B*TCH. |

From BBC:
Jade Goody visits Indian capital Ms Goody after her Delhi lunch Big Brother contestant Jade Goody has arrived in India on what she describes as a private visit. Ms Goody faced accusations of racism towards Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty when they took part in Channel Four show Celebrity Big Brother in January. Ms Goody denied being racist but apologised for referring to Ms Shetty as "Shilpa Poppadom" and other remarks. The controversy made front-page news in India but reaction among ordinary Indians to the row was generally muted. 'Very tired' Hours after her arrival in India, Ms Goody was spotted having lunch at a restaurant in the five-star Le Meridien hotel in the capital, Delhi. Ms Shetty on her visit to the Houses of Parliament earlier in February She was accompanied by three people, including two British Asians one of whom told the BBC that they had "only just arrived and were very tired". A BBC correspondent in Delhi says that Goody sat quietly tucking into a plate of masala dosa under the watchful gaze of a security guard. When the group emerged from the restaurant they ran into a media scrum and had to literally fight their way through the crowd of journalists. "I'm here on a private visit, that's really all I can say at the moment," Goody told the BBC. "But I've been made to feel very welcome so yes, it's been very good so far." It is not clear how long she intends to stay or what she will do during her visit. The way that Goody and some of the other Big Brother contestants treated Ms Shetty resulted in more than 40,000 people complaining to the UK media regulator, Ofcom. On leaving the Big Brother house, the 25-year-old said her behaviour was "nasty" adding: "I'm not racist, but I can see why it has had the impact it's had." Shilpa Shetty was almost unheard of in the UK outside the British Asian community before she entered the Big Brother competition. She soon became a household name. After she won the contest she was invited to visit the Houses of Parliament and to take tea with Prime Minister Tony Blair. |

So what next? Is she going to get a job in the "slums" of India? Will she be seen eating with her "fingers" tucked into her food? Will she go see an indian film?

I find it very hard to believe that all of this information was printed behind Jades back and that she wasn’t privy to any of it. That doesn’t quite sound right to me particularly when you know of the skilled PR team she has behind her. I also find it hard to believe that if I go through all of those interviews I will not find a single contradiction. It’s all a bit too good to be true particularly when we know that Jades not the sharpest tool in the box and she often says the wrong things. I'd give her the benefit of the doubt but it all seems a bit fishy |
