Default Channel 4 removes all long-form episodes from YouTube

Quote:
Channel 4 has removed all long-form episodes of its shows from YouTube.

The broadcaster has taken down the whole of its archive of long-form videos from the video sharing website to encourage people to use its on-demand service 4oD.

Viewers attempting to access programmes including Peep Show and The Inbetweeners from the Channel 4, More4, 4oD and E4 YouTube channels have been greeted with a written statement.

The statement reads: "As you may have noticed, we've now removed all full episodes of Channel 4, E4 and More4 programmes from our 4oD channels on YouTube.

"As a not-for-profit broadcaster funded by advertising, we put our money back into the programmes themselves. To make the best of this investment, we've decided to focus on bringing online viewers of our full-length shows to our own 4oD apps - such as those on iOS, Android and channel4.com.

"These apps also allow us to encourage more viewing by recommending programmes we think people will appreciate, and to provide viewers with additional services."

Trailers for Channel 4 programmes are expected to remain on its YouTube channel.
They just get worse it's so easy to watch it on YouTube and it's much quicker on YouTube then on the Website, at least C5 have still got videos on there
