I've only seen the place in movies and yea it's sad how the sun will never shine though those windows again. I bet there are hundreds of other places in new york deprived of natural light because of the desire to build skyward. I remember hearing someone talk about how they had their dream apartment with a great view, only to have Trump buy the land next to their apartment block, and the building he created there left them with only the sight of concrete and glass.

Anyway Central Station looks truly magical like that

It's French Polynesia. I booked somebody to go there today and they had never considered it. They were going from Auckland to LA and the transit was in Tahiti for 4 hours and I said to them as they are there why not make a trip of it and stay for a week seeing as it is the middle of nowhere and the chances of going their again are slim, and they agreed.

..you just have that traveller blood flowing through your body, don't you.....do you love helping people decide on their trips or is it a bit frustrating because you just want to be there yourself..?..
