Is he hellaslike ,why say something that can be proven to be wrong ?

You're clutching at straws now, all because the HM you don't like is getting more and more popular.

We all saw the last 2 shows where the mums had love and compliments for Jim. What show have you been watching?

I'd already got a strong impression from watching the show that Ollie is single.

I'de never even hear of him or seen him,so I was curious about his life style, nothing wrong with that imo.he's a good looking guy and I thought the ladies would be flocking round him,but that wasn't so,so it made me wonder if he had someone on the outside.

Jim added "if you don't mind me asking". If Ollie didn't want to answer he would have told him it was too personal. But he said it was fine.

Ok. Let's run with your logic here.

So in your mind - Sam's, Casey's and Luisa's mums never came in the house through the clock and gave love and compliments to Jim.

Only I saw that ???

I take my hat off to you for daring to write such a fantastic well thought out post as that one

I don't really understand why some people cannot accept that everyone has their strengths and their weaknesses. I absolutely adore my dad, but I have to admit that he is very bigoted in many ways, although he's clever enough to cover it extremely well. There's nothing wrong with being a "fan" of Jim, and also recognising that he has flaws. You can laugh at his jokes, while realising they're in poor taste. And you should be able to divine when his behaviour or comments towards another person are out of place, tasteless or downright offensive.

After Lee's eviction, Jim spoke in a tone of authority to Casey, and told her to sit beside her. Casey did as she was told, like a dutiful child, and Jim placed his arm around her shoulders. That worried me. Casey didn't appear to need comfort from anyone and I think Jim just did it because he knew the cameras would be on Casey. There's nothing wrong with him wanting to be on the camera, but I didn't like the note of authority in his voice when he spoke to Casey.

There's nothing wrong with that. He just wanted to comfort her. Why everyone sees anything that Jim does as sinister? He's just a nomal guy.

Peoples minds work differently I guess,I took that as a comforting thing as Lee had left,I don't think "Oh he's being creepy" I think "Aw that was nice" why does everything seem to have a sexual undertone with some people? My stepdad also says some things that people would be deemed close to the edge, but it doesn't make him a bad person, just an old fashioned one.

No one can touch anyone anymore unless they have an ulterior motive.

Well, I don't think he's a normal guy, actually. I've met thousands of men in my life, in all different capacities, and none would have behaved like that towards Casey. I dated a guy who made a couple of sexual jokes to me after a couple of dates, despite otherwise being a perfect gentleman, and I broke it off, because I didn't want to be put in the position of either grinning and bearing it in public, or having to embarrass him in public by calling him out for it. When I explained the reason I was calling it off he told me that every single girlfriend he'd had said the same thing. His only real relationship had been a six month affair with a married woman he'd met at a party and had sex with in a cupboard the same night. Just about all the women he knew utterly despised him.

Bringing your own personal feelings into a discussion is not healthy. Linda showed her personal experience card in the house and she got oiked very quickly. Being blinded by prejudices isn't healthy as well we all know and therein lies the reason for your inability to see what Jims all about.

If you could put aside your hatred for men you would see Jims aims are plausible and lovable at the same time. My old dad used to say....Let not one man suffer for another mans failings.

I wasn't bringing my personal feelings into it. I liked him. I was in love with him, to be honest. I only broke it off because I didn't want to embarrass him in public when I pulled him up for making humilating, sexual jokes at my expense in front of whoever else was there. I'd have been mortified if it had been my parents.

I brought everyone else's feelings into it: all the women absolutely despised him. One of the kindest, nicest women I have ever known seemingly said "I'd have thought she'd have more taste." when she heard we were dating. She was right. He put on a nice gentleman act initially with me so I'd go out with him. The act slipped after a couple of dates, in spite of the fact that we were still at the holding hands and cuddling stage.

I still like him very much and when we split up, I said he'd find someone who loved him completely the way he was. I just wasn't right for him.

I'd have been mortified if it had been my parents.

I brought everyone else's feelings into it: all the women absolutely despised him. One of the kindest, nicest women I have ever known seemingly said "I'd have thought she'd have more taste." when she heard we were dating. She was right. He put on a nice gentleman act initially with me, so I was fooled into thinking he was a nice guy. The act slipped after a couple of dates, in spite of the fact that we were still at the holding hands and cuddling stage.

I still like him very much and when we split up, I said he'd find someone who loved him completely the way he was. I just wasn't right for him.
I don't want to make this personal but you opened the door. I dated a woman once that didn't like holding hands in public. Does this mean all women are frigid. I think not. Jim is an old fashioned comedian and is loved by Millions, your analogy comes from a personal basis, not a generalisation which we should all be governed by. If you are to measure Jims actions by the actions of another, the end result comes out as a personal opinion based on issues that are not relevant. I make sexual jokes and ridicule my wife all the time, as she does me but we have been married for 42 years and are very very happy and in love. I guess we possess the ability to forgive and forget and apply common sence most of the time.
