Default BBC3 TV Ch Closure Confirmed for 16th of Feb. 2016 - then goes Online

There is now a thought of making BBC3 online only

[Some of the BBC's best-known stars have urged it not to axe BBC3 as part of a plan to help save the corporation £100m a year. Comedians Jack Whitehall and Matt Lucas, Radio 1 DJs Nick Grimshaw and Greg James and presenter Richard Bacon were among the stars who took to Twitter to call on people to join a campaign to save the 11-year-old channel.]

Awful channel anyway, only good for the Eurovision semi finals and giving us Gavin and Stacey, the current programming is diabolical.

Its a logical idea to axe BBC3. It cant make much money and it doesnt have the arty reputation of BBC4.

BBC3 is the only channel that the BBC provides for young adults, so axing it would leave them not fulfilling their remit, closing it down should be out of the question in that respect IMO. It'd make much more sense to merge BBC4 with BBC2 (and I believe this was spoken about a while ago) considering their content are more closely related, or even CBBC with CBeebies.
