What did Germyle and Armand serve?
'Our dish is Caribbean SurPIEze This consists of a closed pie. The pie will be sprinkled with a range of seasoning such as jerk seasoning, paprika, mild pepper and a squeeze of lemon. Inside of the pie would be oozing with tender pieces of jerk chicken, potato, peppers, and most of all the jerk sauce that is so beautiful it would make you wanna slap yo' mamma. Now this isn't just a normal "pie" it comes with a side dish of rice and peas (or white rice if you don't like the peas) and you can actually pour some of the inside contents onto/with the rice on a seperate dish because it has so much flavour and juice it can be incorporated with a side dish, and it doesn't have to be rice, it can be baby potatoes, pasta, yams and even bread and butter! (if you're in a rush). We make miniture versions of these pies and sides and sell them at the "soul and culture" festival every summer and they always go down a treat. Let me tell ya'll, this is the greatest creation since sliced bread, we invited Levi Roots round the other night to taste some and he's already working on making the "reggae reggae" version of it. Food is becoming more interesting as the years go by, try something new, we promise you won't regret it. Ingredients: Chicken (or any other meat) Jerk, meat, pimento, paprike seasoning Pastry pie base Onions, garlic, mushrooms, peppers, scotch bonnet pepper Rice Kidney or black eyed peas It's more simple than you think. I've made this before irl (germyle) and it's quite personal to me so I thought it would be a great idea to share it with you all.' |

'Jake, here's our entry for the dish task, again sorry its crap design wise, neither of us can do it, but we've put a lot of effort in
(beg!!!!!!!!!!!)SMUDGE KAT’S ZESTFEST #Mouthwateringlydeliciousgrub JAKE BURGERS (WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS) THE JAKEBURGER Chilli and Chocolate Combo THE BURGER ![]() THE ZESTY FRIES ![]() FRUITY ZINGER SIDE SALAD RECIPES Burgers 1 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for drizzling 1 red onion, finely chopped 500g lean minced beef or turkey 1 egg 12 cream crackers, bashed to fine crumbs 2 tsp chilli paste 2 tsp garlic paste 1 tsp each, tomato ketchup and brown sauce 2 tbsp plain flour French Fries 3 med red potatoes 2 cups of water 2 tablespoons of oil 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper 1 teaspoon of paprika 1 teaspoon of garlic powder 1 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper Side Salad White grapes Strawberries Sliced Banana Mandarins METHOD Pre-heat the oven at 425 degrees. In a pot, bring the water to a boil. While the water is heating, slice the potatoes in french fry shapes. The thinner you cut them, the less time they will take to boil but you will sacrifice the tender middle. Once the water is boiling, add the potatoes and cover. Boil for about 10-12 minutes until you can pierce the potato with a fork. Be careful not to over cook or they will fall apart when in the oven. Strain and set aside. In a baking pan, add all other ingredients and stir into the oil. It should be a nice red colour with some graininess. Place the pan in the oven for about 5 minutes and let the oil heat up. This is prevent the potatoes from soaking up the oil and becoming soggy. Once the oil is hot, remove the pan from the oven and gently pour the potatoes into the oil. Stir well so the potatoes are covered in the oil mixture. Return to the oven and and bake for about 25 minutes. Flip the fries and bake for another 15 minutes and bake until the fries get a nice crisp on the outer sides Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion for about 5 mins or until soft. Leave to cool slightly. When cool, put the onion in a large bowl with the mince, egg, bashed crackers, chilli, garlic, ketchup and brown sauce, and mix well to combine. Divide the mince into 4 roll into balls and flatten each into a nice fat burger. Pop the burgers in the fridge for an hour or so, then take out, drizzle with olive oil and cook in a hot oven for 20/30 minutes flipping them over halfway through. Take two to 4 burger baps or muffins, dip them in melted chocolate and leave to set. Once set, place burgers inside, add cheese slice and either a relish or chocolate sauce, depending on how adventurous you are feeling. Serve these Jakeburgers with Zesty fries, a citrus fruit salad with our special Tangy Tahitian dressing and a glass or six of SmudgeKat's homemade Tropical Punch..... it'll blow your socks off! '
