I honestly dont think she would of, despite how much i like her there would probably have been more entertaining and interesting characters in a normal series.

Never. No way. She had no where near the personality of Makosi. She'd have been like Vanessa in BB6. Personally, I don't the big fuss with Chantelle.

No

Makosi had more personality than Anthony, but that didnt stop that happening.

Who's talking about winning? You were talking about making the final and Makosi made the final? In my humble opinion there is no way that airhead would have made the final. She had nowhere near the personality to get there.

She was special only in CBB4 because she had a secret and she was the Paris Hilton look-alike but imagine her in BB6, between Makosi, Craig and Anthony, she's nothing ! I think she would been evicted during the first weeks !!

I dont think she would have won at all, she might have made the final but the fact that she was a non celeb pushed her to be different

Nope, no way. She was only noticed because she was different from everyone else. Being in an ordinary BB would have over shadowed her.

To be honest, I really don't think she would have done. Of course, it always does depend on the series, who the HMs are that you're with, etc. But in her case, in CBB, she was nice, bubbly and fun-loving and had a really likeable quality which came with the fact that she was fresh on the celeb market, as opposed to the other 'celeb' HMs. It made her stand out, and almost guaranteed her a place in the final in the long run, going on to her winning it. She wouldn't have had that same opportunity in a normal BB house.

Without the novelty of her being a non-celeb, Chantelle would have been seen as boring like Imogen was.

I think it depends on which series really and also we'll never know how the other housemates would have behaved around her.
Sadly though I think in most of the latest ones she'd have been lost amongst a crowd of other stronger characters.
These days nobody wants to see nice happy go lucky girl they want to see who can be the biggest bitch or who is most up for it,though goodness knows why.
I think Chantelle's winning moment was standing up to Dennis Rodman and horrible George though so who knows if she'd have been in the same situation in any other bb she may still have had a chance.

I think that Chantelle would have done well, as she is just very friendly and bubbly.

If she came over well in an ordinary Big Brother too, then she would have had a fair chance, but nobody could ever guarantee it.

I wonder whether she would do that?

I agree. She won the celebrity version because she was a novelty - it was obvious that she was being set up to win it right from the beginning. The idea was that if anyone guessed that she wasn't a real celeb, she would be booted out. But when most of the house guessed it, all of a sudden, she had to lose a task to be booted out.

Now, I have nothing against Chantelle (not keen on her taking-himself-far-too-seriously, untalented hubby though), but I don't get why she is so adored by people. What does she do exactly?!

I'm sure she is - she certainly does seem like a nice person. But there are a lot of nice people around. You're a nice person - most people on here seem like nice people, but we're not all celebrities are we? What makes Chantelle deserving of her celebrity status? Time was when you needed more than to be 'nice' to be a celebrity person. If anyone can tell me what exactly it is that she does, I would love to hear it.

No way! Because she's down to earth and sweet, she would have been edited as boring, like Imogen. BB only really want to show girls who constantly bitch and big characters.

I think it was a miracle that Chantelle went on CBB and then met Preston.

And imo she did earn her celebrity status. Being in Big Brother isnt easy Im sure, and I definately think people deserve to be well known.
She isnt trying to be a celebrity anyway, shes trying to get on with married life.

Last time I heard from her she was doing some charity work for Comic Relief.

I think it's the same as all the other housemates that have gone before that are liked by people.They don't have talent in anything they just appeal to some people and they get fans from just being themselves.
For me I always tend to like the housemates that are nice people that don't bitch and are also not the really media hungry people that others are.
For me it's about getting the level of exposure right without selling their souls to stay in the papers.
I will just say though that IMO Chantelle deserves to be a celebrity more than some other celebrities that have done less than her and are bigger celebs.
Look at all the ones that have become famous for sleeping with/having affairs with genuine celebrities.
At least Chantelle won a tv show and was voted by lots of people some of the 'celebs' out there unfortunately didn't even do that and we're stuck with them.

I agree totally. In later years (in the normal BB at least) it seems that the people who become the bigger stars are the ones who aren't actually very nice people. I prefer to see nicer, more sensible people (which is why I couldn't get into BB7 at all).

Yeah, and I'm certainly not knocking Chantelle as a person...she really does seem like a nice girl, but it just seems that once someone has said that, there's nothing more to say about her!

I still don't think she would have won a normal BB though - she doesn't seem to have the bitchy element that seems to be a pre-requisite these days. She may well have been voted out at the earliest opportunity. Although of course, it would all depend on the other housemates and what they were like.

I agree Ruth and I think it's a sign of how much times have changed.In the early BB's Chantelle would have stood a great chance as niceness featured high on the characteristics of a winner.
Chantelle has a good sense of humour and a down to earth attitude to life which in the most recent BB's counts for nothing but for me keeps me interested.
I think the other thing is the romance and I know many don't like Preston but for those that do the interest stays as it's nice to have a happy ending.Now it's a matter of hoping they'll stay together and have a happy life and family.they don't need to do much for me to want to read about them I'm easily pleased
