I was wondering if Big Brother 8 would consider having a housemate who was either Blind, Deaf or Dumb?

Or even someone who has a disability which means they are wheelchairbound or "one legged"

I know that Jackiey, (Jade's mum) has one arm

Pete Bennett had Tourette's, and we know how some thought of that, as this quote states:-

Interesting question, but personally I think someone that's deaf or blind would need alot of care, care that Big Brother mightn't be able to facilitate, and he/she could have a good chance of winning, with sympathy vote. Just my opinion.

I think that Big Brother would make special provisions for this, if they did decide to bring someone in, who was disabled in these ways. Even Down-Syndrome.

But this is Big Brother 8 and they might want to change things a bit?

I would expect something like this, even bring in a midget or a 7 ft 7 ins woman, who knows?

But they shouldn't discriminate, just because of a disability. If a Blind, Deaf or Dumb person comes in, or whatever, the options should be the same and also, the voting should be for the person, not just the disability.

They wouldn't want sympathy!!

Its a shame, but it would ruin the game.
It would be predictable and they would get the sympathy vote.

A disabled housemate would probably get the sympathy vote and it just isn't fair. Even the housemates may feel guilty about voting a blind person out.

It's cruel sometimes.

it is hard to please everyone, and some may feel that you need to be (Cruel to be kind)

But Big Brother is in control and we shall have to trust their judgement.

If you see a man or woman coming out of a car, holding a white stick and being aided, then it is too late and everyone is going to have to accept it.

I agree. I'm not bothered if a disabled person goes in, but I'd rather they didn't.

my cusions blind and she needs help to do stuff, so i dotn think it will be a good idea to have a person who needs constant help as it will be to hard for them,

I don't think it's a good idea putting a disabled person in the house. Not that it's not morally wrong, but it would be rubbish.

Although the "greased up deaf guy" from "Family guy" would be funny...

i dont think disables people acctually audition for big brother. i would love it if they did put a disabled person in there. but if they were in a weelchair. how would they get up and down the stairs?

i'am deaf so i think it would be quiet ood to see somone else who id deaf in the bb house and how they do.

mind you they might not wake up to the morning alarm and there hearing aid batteries might run out aswell.

Being "Deaf" is not easy, as I am sure you must be aware of, Corporal. As it also affects your speech too, as you can't hear your own voice!

So you kinda lose two senses.

If there was a disabled housemate in a wheel-chair, then there would have to be provisions once again.

But the common thought in most people's minds, is, would they get the sympathy vote?

The bookmakers would give 2 - 1 or less for a win, perhaps?

my prents always say to me to speak up as i dont speak very loud so when i speak louder i feel like iam shouting when iam not.
so your right it can affect your speech.

I know a deaf girl who is very nice and she is the same. She speaks, but it varies in volume, as she obviously can't hear her own voice.

How has your "hole in your heart" affected you in life?

Eddie who won BB1US won by sympathy vote because his leg was amputated. Pete won a sympathy vote in the end becuase of his Tourettes. Josh Blue won Last Comic Standing becuase he had Ceberal Palsy. It's usually a natural that anyone has a disability will win a Public Voting reality show.

I have absoloutely nothing against people who are blind, deaf etc...at the end of the day, they're still human. I just think that if there was a housemate who was, it would just be too much work for Big Brother and the housemates to mind them. And, then, there's the sympathy votes...
