Default Parents nicked for having Fat Kid 11 year old

[A Mum arrested for letting her 11-year-old son
balloon to 15st says she calls
him Wee Chubby — and blames
his weight gain on his genes.
The woman and her husband
were interviewed by police after
doctors raised concerns over the boy’s welfare.
Cops visited their house and the dad
spent 50 minutes in a cell.
But the couple claim they
have been trying to keep the boy slim.
And his 20st father insisted:
“My son’s always been big.
Everyone on my side of the family is.”
The 5ft 1in youngster has a
body mass index of 41.8 — close to double
the healthy level.
Meanwhile his 15st bulk is nearly
three times the safe weight
for a boy his age and height.
He has confessed that he wants
to slim down after his size saw
him banned from horse rides
with pals during a school trip.
Now his parents say they are terrified
they will lose him to a residential school.]

This is a strange case, if the lad is autistic maybe they can't explain how important it is for him to not overeat, are they risking a meltdown if they refuse to give him certain foods or does he take without asking?
It's not a black and white issue here.

Sigh. Criminal charges are not the answer, here. Once again, the authorities trying to perform delicate surgery with a claw hammer.
