Default Big Brother fans look for gossip online

A spectacular Big Brother bust-up has provoked a surge of activity on the net as fans of the reality show look for the latest gossip online.

The official Channel 4 Big Brother website has been unavailable on and off this morning because of "huge demand" from fans.

According to a spokeswoman for the hit reality show, "so many people have been trying to access the site.. the sheer volume of traffic has left it unavailable".

Popular fans website Digital Spy has also been forced to temporarily close its discussion forums after hundreds logged in to chat about last night's ruckus.

Fans have speculated on the future of the show since the events, which left the house wrecked, the contestants locked in their rooms, and forced Channel 4 bosses to pull the programme from the air at 2am for more than an hour.

A message currently states: “Digital Spy's forums are currently under extremely heavy load. Please try again in a few minutes! We're working to ensure as many people as possible are able to use the forums.”

Before the forums closure, fans had discussed how the row had escalated following the return of the two "evicted" housemates Emma and Michelle from the "bedsit" they had been living in since Friday. Some viewers speculated that the show would not be able to continue.

Grumble you make it all difficult. I'll bake a thousand, any left over we can sell as genuine TiBB muffins, or something.

It's quite nice to see the interest the 'fight' provoked, shame it took something of that magnitude, but certainly is proving interesting.

We could always donate any left over to the house, just incase Marco and Nadia run out of food to throw

The day after the arguement in the house, TiBB had a record amount of hits/page impressions - 1,041,223 in 24 hours!

That's 43,384 an hour
Which is 723 a minute

A remarkable feat... it used up so much bandwidth and server load it isn't funny, but luckily our hosts are fine about it!

Below is a graph of the daily visits to TiBB, as you can see this one day ruined the trend!

Well BB has certainly done what it set out to do and made this year's series memorable (whether for the right reasons has yet to be seen).

How many of these new visitors are real BB fans though or just browsing out of nosiness?

Muffins for the real fans is what I say Preferably with cream on top. Blow the diet for one day!!!

BTW Mark any of these visitors actually become members?
