Default Your Funeral Song

Bit of a depressing thread sorry - but if you could have 1 song played at your funeral what would it be?

Umm something really depressing so people cry more!

Not that anyone would turn up to my funeral. When I missed school loads in year 9 people thought I was dead, and they seemed dissapointed when I came back.

Probably my favourite album of all time, has to be:-

Tears For Fears - The Hurting.

It has great memories for me and I love those early days of Tears for Fears, "Songs From The Big Chair" was great too, but after then, their music just went down hill, in my opinion.

The one song which I would have played at my funeral is:-

(Tears For Fears - Memories Fade)

here is a Youtube video for the song. As it wasn't released as a single, it will have to be a live performance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=728o3osYo3o

It is such a moving song and the words, "History's my cage" & "Look forward to a future in the past" that's me all over, actually.

I'm stuck there, with "memories of the past", as I collect memories. and don't like change!

song-words below:-
-----------------------------------

"Memories Fade"

There's only need
I love your need
So much I'm losing me
I cannot see the reason for the Pain
With hungry joy
I'll be your toy
Just hoping you will play
Without hope my body starts to fail
Memories fade but the scars still linger
Goodbye my friend
Will I ever love again
Memories fade but the scars still linger
I cannot grow
I cannot move
I cannot feel my age
The vice like grip of tension holds me fast
Engulfed by you
What can I do
When History's my cage
Look foward to a future in the past
The more I talk
The more I say
The less you seem to hear
I'm speechless in a most peculiar way
Your mind is weak
Your need is great
And nothing is too dear
For you to use to take the Pain away
Memories Fade
No don't pretend you can justify the end
Memories fade but the scars still linger

Michael Buble - Everything

It's my favourite song at the min so i'd like that to be played, probably at the end when everyone is walking out of the church. Or at the beginning, i don't know yet.

Whilst everyone is sitting there at the beginning before the service starts, i want..

Barbara Streisand - The Way We Were

Again, i like the song but it's one of those really sad songs and it's a good funeral song, loads of people cry at this song in a funeral context.

Follow you into the dark- death cab for cutie... If I had to have one song...

But I think it would be cool if I had a "fun"eral where people celebrated my life... so I could have a list of my favourite songs when I was in my youth in 20's mid age and old age etc.....

But I do want a few tears... But mostly laughs….

I was off for a week at school and people thought I was dead… so they were going to make me a memorial…. Lol but I came in the next day….

I know what you mean about the dead thing, if somebody is off for at least a week at my school then they must be dead, it really is stupid.
