Default Apprentice winner Leah saves seriously ill man

Quote:
Derry’s Apprentice winner and qualified doctor Leah Totton rushed to save a seriously ill commuter during Friday rush hour in a busy London station, it’s emerged.

Dr Leah was travelling back from a meeting with Lord Sugar at his offices when she spotted the man looking unwell. It’s believed the male commuter then collapsed with the Derry born doctor immediately rushing to his aid. Dr. Leah raised the alarm and called an ambulance whilst obtaining a vague history before the man lost complete consciousness, She managed his airway and monitored his vital statistics. After administering first aid the Apprentice winner remained with the man until he stablised and ambulance crews arrived.

Speaking to the Journal this morning about her actions which have been hailed as heroic, Dr. Leah said: “People may know me from The Apprentice, but primarily I am a qualified doctor with experience in emergency medicine so trained to deal with situations like this. The moment I saw this man I could tell he was unwell and when I saw him collapse I did the natural thing and went to his aid.

“Luckily I was able to stabilise him by the time the ambulance arrived. I was just doing what I was trained to do and feel grateful to have been in the right place at the right time and able to help.”

Dr Leah’s actions did not go unnoticed with fellow commuters who took to Twitter to praise the young doctor’s actions tweeting:

“@coach_maitland : Convinced I just saw @Drleahtotton attend to a man who collapsed at Liverpool St station…very fortunate” “I saw your reaction. Many wouldn’t have come back down the stairs. Now following you for that moment of awesomeness”

Another onlooker said: “The guy was in serious trouble and it is no exaggeration to say Leah may well have saved his life.”
