Default CBB summer series'...

Hello, everyone. Hardly ever use this forum. Not a fan of them as some people
who disagree with your opinions on things can get a bit nutty sometimes (lol), but I do come on here and read all of your bit and pieces all the time - it's nice to see the BB love. To me, it's the only reality TV show worth tuning into.

Anyway, my problem is the summer CBB. I loathe that Channel 5 decided to implement two series a year, and loathe even more the fact that the ratings for always shocking for a CBB series. I fear that too much BB will see even the more loyal viewers get fed up. Hell, even I get a bit tired of it, especially after just finishing the 'civilian' series. I also wonder if the summer show may have a slight affect on the figures for the winter series (even though they are still great).

Make people thirst for it, I say.

Thoughts?

Yeah i think they should axe the summer series, but i was thinking that last year but was pleased with cbb considering the normal one was ****! So here's a plan/backup seeing on what happens in the summer:

Regular bb is comissioned for 9 weeks

If it is any good, extend it to 11/12 weeks & NO CBB

If it is really that bad, finish it then but have a CBB All-Stars the following week. No new celebrities & i personally would love to see an all-stars but not wasted on a january series so this would be convenient.

Yeah I think they should axe the summer version, but last Summer was great and if they can still manage spectacular casts like this then they can go ahead.

I pretty much agree.

On principle, I'd say axe the summer CBB because it's a bit overkill and there's no real build up to it, but last year's summer CBB was brilliant (the first week in particular) and (imo) much better than the winter one, so I'm still glad they had a summer CBB last year.

I find it ruins the end of a civilian series too. Maybe after BB15 it was ok. Although certainly with BB14 the final felt like an ending for Big Brother, leading into a few months break, but oh no it's back in a few days. It dampens the civilian finals and any excitement for a new series.

Every summer after civilian BB I pretty much get really fed up of Big Brother being on TV. Having two series in quick succession is just too much of a drag.

Oh, I needed another series after BB15, to wash away the stench of a repugnant winner. CBB14 was a godsend after the mess of BB15.

I do think they should axe the summer CBB, it's too much + I'd prefer the civilian series to have a longer run.

We all needed it after BB15.

I only enjoyed it up until Frenchy left though. The highlights being focused on Gary and the bullying towards him I found far too annoying.

Adding another series onto BB15 didn't make it any better

Nobody said it did.

But BB15 left such a bad taste that I relished having another series to concentrate on. CBB14 was my freshest BB memory of last year, rather than BB15.
