I don't really know what to think about this, IT is one my most favourite books and movies, it terrified me when I was younger. Although I think it's a good thing that the guy that done the first series of True Detective is over seeing it..

If they're going to try it again, I'd much rather they do so as an HBO/Showtime/other US cable network show. IT is a huge book and you really can't do it justice in film.

The first "IT" movie (well, it was a two-part TV film but I saw it as one movie) used to scare the crap out of me, so I'm so down for this. The new Pennywise has a lot to live up to with Tim Curry, though! I've not read the book yet but it's on my list of those I intend to. Last edited by Lostie!; 18-01-2015 at 04:02 PM.

I'd still prefer a series though, having two parts didn't really work that well for the first adaptation.

Hasn't he had a few movies remade now? I know Carrie was, IIRC they were redoing the Shining too? How long until another Shawshank or Green Mile I'd much rather have a Pet Sematary or Salem's Lot since those movies are quite outdated.

I'd like to see Salem's Lot done properly, they remade it for TV a few years back but it was predictably awful.

You could have spoilers that picture Josy.....I hate Pennywise. I would love to see Salems Lot remade, it was the first horror film I saw and it terrified me. Not sure if they should redo IT or the Shining....although the ending of the shining film was awful. A lot of Stephen Kings books don't translate that into film as the books are too in depth.

The only bit of Salem's Lot I've seen is the scene with that creepy child floating outside the window. mg: It's always on scariest moments countdowns. I need to watch the whole thing to be honest, I love horrors. Last edited by Lostie!; 18-01-2015 at 07:22 PM.

When I watched the film the first time, my brother climbed on the flat roof outside my room and tapped on the window.....I have never, before or since, been as terrified

Ugh, I just had to scroll rapidly past the pic of the vampire kid, freakiest bit in the whole film.

I never see this film when I was a kid but I watched it a few years ago and I thought it was rubbish. I didn't know it was made for tv so that's why. I agree with Dezzy, I think it would work better if it was a TV series.

Yeah I know that but a revamped TV series could work better.

I can't see him doing it, he's a bit too prestigious for it tbh. The other three are likely though.

I think they should get Tim Curry to play him again, he done a great job and he's still relatively young enough to do it | |||
