Default More \"18 year old\'s\" (YES/NO?)

Would anyone like to see more teenage 18 year old girl's/guy's coming in the house?

Or do you want someone older & perhaps, more mature?

Depends on the age they act to be honest.

We don't need more little girls in the house that is for sure we have two already in the twins.

I think putting people of varied ages (which they obviously have) is a good idea, I wouldn't mind seeing more 18 year-olds in there since that's the age you have to be to get on Big Brother...

I wouldn't mind them being 18 years old. It would be cool.

I know that the twins are a little bit imature, but that can be the same for someone who is 24, let's say??

But age shouldn't matter, but (18) is very appealing to many

The twins may be quite young and a little immature but there doesn't seem to be any of the anger that sometimes comes with it. Last night they were so chilled out and relaxed. Anyway, I quite like the idea of more younger hms this year, I want them to stay up late and party.

I agree that the twins have calmed down loads - I'm really liking them at the moment.
I think there should be a couple of 18 year olds maybe, but it would be better to have a range of ages.

I think there should be a mixture really, maybe a few older male housemates and the majority 18 year old's/19 year old's for the younger girl housemates

Too many common 18 year old wannabes.

There is NOT a varied age in there. Only three people over 27. Hardly varied.

It depends on the person. Glyn was one of the best housemates last year.

I think they definately need to bring more people in who are 25-40 to balance things out, and to give poor Tracey someone to talk to :P

I think very young contestants don't mix well in the house. The twins are doing ok as they have each other...however if they wanted to throw in a male set of 18 year old twins I would find that quite amusing lol.

I wanted an 18 year old guy for the girls to flirt with. Ziggy is pretty much too old for them all.

Why? Age should not be such a factor.

Its ridiculous having immature kids running around. I'd love more over 30s in there.

Not all 18 year olds are immature though are they?

I'd love to say that age shouldn't be an issue, but I think it is, to an extent. A good mix is nice to see, but the significantly older hm's seldom fit in, often of their own choosing. I was surprised to see how well the crowd reacted to Carole, but to her credit she really went for it in the breakdancing task. I don't mind teenage hm's at all. A good percentage of the audience are teens, so why shouldn't they be represented in the house? I never took to Glyn last year, but Jennie was a great hm. I suppose an ideal mix would be three teens and three hm's each in their twenties, thirties and forties.

I've always said the minimum age should be at least 20 or 21 but it won't happen, the show is much more aimed at teenagers than it once was.

To me, personally, the older housemates should be more interesting to listen to because they have wider experiences. The young housemates usually do well though in the show if the get through the first few weeks - they get away with things that an older housemate wouldn't if they are seen as naive and on a journey.

It's not just about age though... one of the major reasons a wide variety of characters don't end up on Big Brother is that anyone with a career has to give up their job to go on the show, or at least put it on hold.

There needs to be more incentive for people to apply for the show in the first place than there currently is. At the moment the only ex-housemates that do well out of it (financially at least) are the glamour models and famous-for-being-famous wannabes. The idea, even, that ex-housemates could launch a media career (which is something that some of the early BB housemates had) is right out the window now.

I really liked Glyn last year and was pleased with the journey he went on, and like him maybe some of the younger housemates this year could come out a lot stronger having handled different people and situations to what they are used to, and even the whole experience of just living away from home. I suppose at this age they have no ties, for example a long-term career, relationship or children so it is natural for them to want to come in the house and broaden their experiences.

I have to agree with that. The older housemates in CBB5 were so much more interesting than their younger counterparts most of which opened their big mouths without even thinking.

I do like a mix in the house but I fear it is going too young looking at the twins this year.

I never really took to the 'journey' thing. I can only recall it being mentioned as far as Glyn was concerned. He went into the house as a nerdy teenager, and came out as a nerdy teenager. I think there's more chance of a wider mix from the younger hm's, because if for no other reason, youth makes people naive. The older people get, the more cynical they become, making them less likely to want to be involved at all. So by default, the older hm's are far more likely to be extreme characters or exhibitionists of some sort.

I still think there are options for ex-housemates in the media. It's just a case of the right person coming along, which hasn't happened for a while. I don't think BB necessarily makes people 'untouchable'.

I feel the need to defend the twins again, too. Maybe over the coming weeks, they'll become insufferable - who knows? But as of now, they're fitting in fine. And in comparison to some of the other housemates, they're the very model of maturity. Opinions of housemates based on their vt and entrance often come unstuck, because so often they paint a totally inaccurate, or at least severely lopsided picture.
