Default Highway To Hell

The poor old housemates have woken to some hideous noises in their time - but none so revolting as that of a traffic jam in rush hour.

As the automatic blinds in the bedroom began to roll up and let the sun stream in, the sleeping housemates stirred in their beds, then almost jumped out of their skins as a few seconds later, the sounds of road works crashed into their eardrums, complete with car horns, revving engines and an omnipresent pneumatic drill.

Becki (who'd been awake for hours, chatting to herself in the shower) immediately sprang to her feet and went about her business.

But the other housemates failed to realise from bitter experience that the noise wouldn't be going anywhere until they'd dragged themselves out of bed.

Sadly, as per usual, the majority's way of dealing with the disruption was to steadfastly lie it out.

Ahmed pressed his hands to his ears and stared at the ceiling in silence, while Jason and Victor managed to raise themselves up onto their elbows, clearly hoping that Big Brother would count the semi-vertical stance as being up and about.

This boy can sleep through anything

Michelle and Stuart finally managed to heave themselves out of the sack, the latter reaching for a cerise sarong, which he elegantly tied around his waist before slinking off to make coffee.

The racket continued for 12 minutes, after which some housemates mistakenly thought they could get away with going back to bed.

They were sorely mistake. Four minutes later a screaming baby came along to remind them who they were messing with.

With a middle finger raised to the cameras, Ahmed leapt back up and stomped off to the garden.

There, there.

I'm so glad I bought those extra shares in The Jimi Hendrix Memorial Home For The Terminally Optomistic (who have wisely secured the contract to supply 'laughing acadamy' services to the BB house.)
