truTV UK has acquired all seven seasons of the American reality show. It also owns broadcast rights for companion series RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked.

Starting with the fourth season, the channel will launch RuPaul's Drag Race in June.

The show, produced by World of Wonder, airs on Logo TV in the US.

Jane Mote, Turner Broadcasting UK's channel director of general entertainment, said: "RuPaul's Drag Race is an entertaining, outrageous show packed full of larger-than-life characters with a balance of humour and warmth that our viewers love.

"It's a perfect fit for truTV, complementing the existing slate and showcasing the channel's sense of fun.

"We're really excited to become its TV home in the UK and to be working with [distribution company] Passion and creators and producers World of Wonder to spread the RuPaul love to new audiences."

Hosted by drag queen RuPaul, the show aims to find "America's next drag superstar" by putting contestants through a series of challenges.

Michelle Visage, who recently participated in Celebrity Big Brother, has been a judge since the third season.

The first six seasons are also available to watch on Netflix in the UK.
