Muse have revealed new song 'Psycho', the first to be taken from forthcoming new album 'Drones'.

The band's seventh studio album is due for release on June 8 and 'Psycho' marks the first material fans have heard from the record. The album's first official single, 'Dead Inside', will premiere on March 23. The 12-track LP will be released on June 8 and is the follow up to 2012's 'The 2nd Law'.

Speaking about the album, which was co-produced by Robert John 'Mutt' Lange along with the band, frontman Matt Bellamy talks of an exploration of human existence and the loss of hope amid a climate of oppression.

"To me, drones are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse," he says. "The world is run by drones utilising drones to turn us all into drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors."

Muse have also announced a series of live dates to take place later this month. The band will play gigs in Belfast, Glasgow, Newport, Exeter, Manchester and Brighton.

Last.fm said I played it 18 times already, lol. I'm obsessed. I know a lot of the fanbase don't like it but it's right up my alley and reminds me of their older songs. I wasn't a fan of The 2nd Law but so far Drones is kicking a lot of ass.

Kerrang's gonna love this.

My personal opinion is that I like it, it's not as good as some of their other songs, but I definitely like it's Beautiful People touches.

It's ****ing awful. They're trying way too hard and it makes me think of a bunch of past it dads trying to be edgy and failing at it.

I like all kinds of music, this however is just pretentious, self indulgent and shallow wankery. Muse have lost their spark, the last two albums and this ****stain of a single is enough proof of that.
