Default Big Brother-Really does mirror society. My 2 cents

THIS is why we watch BB,to see what really is going on in society,to show every walk of life.

I think thats why its so popular,we all know somone who is like atleast one HM be it a good or bad HM.

We can pick our villain and our hero,we can reward the person who we can relate too,who shows kindness, humour and humanity and despise the ignorant, malicious and plain mean person.

Which we cant do in everyday life.

We cant evict the scumbag outside Mcdonalds calling you a fag/p*ki/N*igger/Fatty etc

Thats why BB is popular, because we have controll over whats right and wrong.

Emilys/jades/jos/danielles ignorance is rampant in every pub, club and playground around the brittish and Irish isles.

A society that is so desensitized, the youth dont know boundries, tolerence, sensitivity etc.

BigBrother is a mirror to society.

It is teaching people that you CANNOT use these words,or it gives a pass to every scumbag to call the gay guy walking down the street a f*g.Or the kids in school bullying some child because he has a different skin colour.

BigBrother is a launching pad to show, whats right and whats wrong in society.I hope it teaches viewers what behaviour is rewarded and what behaviour should be shunned. And what language is exceptable, and what is not.

People abuse the control still, though.

And things get so out of hand. Like the whole Shilpa thing.

They over-use the right they have to call the shots and everything kicks off in the media.

No, I disagree. You put Emily in with Jade, Danielle and Jo, but the difference is

Emily said a word because shes secure in the knowledge shes not a racist

Jade, Danielle and Jo AVOIDED saying anything blatantly racist, because they knew it would condemn them.

The difference in these two examples are opposite ends of the spectrum.

No,Emily showed Ignorance to the word.
the word is WRONG.She used it like an everyday word which is wrong.
Im sure Emily isn racist,or course she isnt.but she showed ignorance, and stupidity.

Im sure the guys on the street corner shouting N***er at the black kid walking down the street mean it,but everytime somone like emily uses the word ,it gives these real racists the pass to use it.

I believe Emily was attempting to use the word in a non offensive way so as to take away some of the stigma surrounding the word.

I've been known to do it myself with the word p*** around my pakistani friends. It is sometimes not greeted with as much hostility as you may think.

I do however, understand the implications and history of the word n*****, and Emily was, arguably, ignorant to that, and it is that factor which makes this word so controversial.

there are some words that shouldnt be desensitized tho.

Thats my point, every time somone uses it in a fun or jokingly way,it gives the REAL racists the persmission to use it.

the words should be striked from any conversation.

oh and very mature whoever took away karma for my perfectly respectful post.

BB cannot be a mirror to society, since huge huge proportion of people will not go on the show. Hence, the show will only attract characters which have a certain trait.

I don't think the word should be struck from conversation, I think people should be educated about it so they know the implications of saying it.

But people already knows it wrong to use it.

Id prefer it didnt exsist to be used to educate, then let scumbag racists the chance or permission to use it..
