The difference between CBB5 & BB8 is that Emily from BB8 said a word which is 100% racist. The (N) word.
In CBB5 Jade, Jo & Danielle did not say a racist word They were words & comments which may have been construed to some as containing possible racial overtones. That was the significant difference. The CBB5 race furore was due to the way in which it came over & fanatics in India burning effegies. Also, the housemate in question, who was labelled as "The Victim" was non-other than a VERY famous Indian Bollywood film actress, who has a huge fanbase in India & with the Indian & Asian community in Great Britain. When Shilpa got bullied & the racial-overtones furore began, it caused a riot. Whether Emily said the (N) word or not, BB could have just edited the word out, "Whatever it was" & Emily may have stayed in & the word or comment could be "Brushed under the carpet", so-to-speak. But this time, in BB8 that was impossible. nodisharmony ![]() |

Yeah
brush it under the carpet, ignore it - the apologists answer to everything. No she probably wouldn't have been kicked out if it were not for the CBB5 HMs racist bullying and them getting busted for it. Yes, what happened in CBB5 was racist, OFCOM say it was, C4 now admit it was, and from the daily log comments published by OFCOM we now know Łndemol knew it was racist at the time, but they tried to brush it under the carpet. Hide it, pretend it didn't happen - yes, thats what the David Irvings of the world do. |

Quote:
Racism exists & also, Racist words exist & furthermore, Offensive words & comments which may have been construed to some as containing possible racial-overtones. Channel 4 only needed to do three apologies. No words or comments by the girl's have got any of them prosecuted, with or without a complaint from Shilpa Shetty. More clarity needed to understand that point ![]() The term (Brushing it under the carpet) is in relation to careful editing and proceeding with the show, without a problem arising. Emily's (N) word would probably have been edited out, as it was obviously a racist word. That is why Channel 4 & Endemol were happy to display the un-cut footage for all of us to see & hear. Funny that, as I thought the (N) word is offensive & racist??? It's like the (P) word, or is that a different situation ![]() I can't understand Andy Duncan's way of thinking, or a certain someone else above either ![]() nodisharmony ![]() |

Bigmouth CHarley would never had allowed Emily's 'word' to be brushed under the carpet no matter what she said!
You saw how she was determined to make sure Laura heared it too. Bad mistake brushing under the carpet. Always leads to terrible mistakes in the end because things always get blown up out of proportion then. |
