In the aftermath of this morning's clash between Michelle and Ahmed, the ailing private has requested a visit from a GP to cure his ragged throat.

But Victor, who has done as much as anyone to calm Ahmed, believes the strength of the illness could be in his mind.

"You know and I know, it's all in his head that he can't do it," he confided to Dan regarding Ahmed's inability to complete the assignments.

And Victor also spoke frankly to Ahmed of his disappointment in his behaviour, telling him, "Everyone is bending over backwards to help you."

He continued, "We all sat through the night so you could get a good night's sleep. The least you can do is continue the run 'til the end. It's just a 10-minute run. You should not be walking off and creating havoc," he told him.

Ahmed had an answer though. One fail was down to him he said, the others were all Michelle's fault for shouting at him.

Vic tries to play diplomat


Showing deft diplomacy, Victor responded, "Fair enough, Ahmed. But how many times today are you going to give us a fail?"

It was agreed that Ahmed should ask Big Brigadier for a sick note, making him exempt from the task. Big Brigadier, however, told him he didn't issue sick notes but noted his request for a GP.

"The main problem is I'm not eating," he said, minutes before tucking into an orange.

Ahmed is typically unrepentant, saying he cleaned more boots than "other people" yesterday and claiming the moral high ground for throwing a cup across the decking rather than on the lawn, as Michelle did.

But Nadia and Dan are incredulous at the fuss Ahmed is making over his sore throat and, along with Michelle, would rather he left the House.

It appears everyone is fed up with his behaviour and how he has jeopardised their chances of passing the task.

It was left to Victor to try and motivate Ahmed to contribute to the group, telling him he needed to "get a grip."
