five have also tried to attack big brother with a show they called the curse of big brother and they have shown all of the bad things that have happened to housemates when they left it.

Rival networks always slag off other shows.
I remember an ITV advert (around the time of SCD) that said 'would you rather watch bore-room dancing or...?'
BB should take it as a compliment. They wouldn't bother with slagging them off if the show wasn't a threat.

The show isn't a threat at all to ITV anymore. Britains Got Talent absolutely smashed Big Brother to pieces with an average of 8-9m per episode compared to BB's pathetic 2.8m average for that week.

I've saw the advert, it is all done in good humour. It is an E4 style advert its not completely slagging it off as such.

I've seen the ad - it claims if you do not want to watch a bunch of wannbe's then tune in to ITV2 movies as there is no wannabe celebs there!!

OK I guess - advertising laws were changed a few years ago stating that you can mention other products if you can prove claims made and that it is not defamitory against the product. It's all rivalry in the media game!!!

I am still left bemused that ITV2 has been awarded Channel of the Year!!! How????

Perhaps because ITV2 has a 1.9% share of the audience and is watched by children, men and women whereas BBC3 only has a 1.2% share and only targets 18-25 year olds.

ITV have lots of other reality TV shows that Channel 4 could only dream of matching the success of

X Factor and Im a celebrity are on during winter, when tv ratings are at the hightest.
BB is going through a rough patch this year, but at the end of the day no other reality show has the long term public support that big brother has.

ITV are tacky.
