I get the feeling the reason so little has been released is because it's more or less pandemonium behind the scenes (stuff not finished, time running out, behind schedule, everyone stressed, etc).

I wouldn't care about two levels if the extension was bigger, but from the pics it looks too small to have just one floor and be able to fit effective rooms in it

Yeah the extension is tiny width wise but it's tall enough for two floors so if they haven't utilised it it's gonna be very cramped and not really feel like a second house

Plus BBUK has been crying out for a second floor for years, they build an extension big enough for one and then don't create it? Nah **** that

Was a second floor ever likely anyway ?? Maybe I'm remembering wrong but I'm sure the plans just said there would be a little balcony on the second floor then stairs leading down, I was never expecting a full on second floor with additional rooms and so on.

I'll take a balcony so long as there's a seating area and it's say as big as BBCan's (and not like BB14's top of the stairs ****)

Obviously I'd prefer a room up there but I'd settle for that. So long as it's not just stairs leading down

The plans literally show that the extension does have two floors, so the actual building does have a second floor.

(On the first document the plans are labelled as "2nd House Ground Floor" and "2nd House First Floor". In the second there's a label for "poss toilet on 2nd floor").

Whether the producers have decided to utilise the space upstairs is a whole different question, but a second floor does exist in the extension.

What I don't get is if the second floor is for production use only, how would they get up there without the housemates noticing. And wouldn't they hear them wandering around upstairs?

I you look on the plans the room next to the bathroom has toilet inside it, perhaps it's another small bedroom?
