Default swearing

How come if a member types a full swear word out their post gets edited and/maybe a warning issued but if its typed as 'disguised' i.e F*%k its allowed?
My thoughts are all swearing should be banned disguised or otherwise.

I think it's ok if you disguise it with "*"s, only showing the first letter but I think it's unacceptable what some people do on here where they just put a space in the middle of the word or mispell it deliberately so that it is not censored.

I agree..... I know that the site has a large swear word filter but like you said, its easy to get around.

I know that if a mod/admin spot it the will edit it out but i guess its up to the poster.

I find it annoying too

yes I totally agree with you Kizwizz as there is alot of young teenagers on here who dont need to read such nasty words that older members write so i agree that it should be stopped

we try to edit as much swearing out as we can but we also place a level of responsibility with the members of this forum. We are constantly editing swear words out and people know they are not allowed, they know that if we come across them that we will remove them. I dont think there is an easy answer as some people just dont seem able to post a legible post without swearing

I would also like to point out that people that have been found to constantly defeat the swear word filter or repeatedly swear and have been asked to stop have been given warnings in the past and will in future. We try and do our best to stop swearing on the site but it has become part of todays culture.

I know you guys(mods/admin)edit swearing when you can and i appreciate that its time consuming but can you clarify is F%*@ allowed?

Sunny_01 a good way to stop it is to take the word out completley so if for
example i typed,'i think BB was s*%t tonight' ,it gets edited to 'i think BB was tonight' No message,no explanation amd im sure Members will soon get the message.
Zero tolerance i say!

Sometimes I type swear words and assume they get filtered, but when I look back on the post it's there in all it's glory.

I think instead of making up your own way of covering up the swear word, just type the word in and the filter will cover it up for you, that way, no-one gets a grilling from moderators and admin which gives them more time to deal with more important forum issues.

I have dragged this out of the woodwork because recently I am shocked at the amount of swearing there is on the forum. Yes the filter picks most of the words up but it seems to be everywhere

Is there any need for it??????
