Not the Marvel comic. The old British TV show. Steed, Gambit (again, not the Marvel character), and Purdey. Today is its 40th anniversary.

Brilliant and seminal British TV which paved the way for all action drama series which followed.

Yummy hokum which was simply unmissable.

Do you remember The Persuaders with Roger Moore and Tony Curtis? 'Department S' and Jason King?

Golden TV years.
