In Week Eight of "Big Brother", usually a big character is lost.
Big Brother 1: Melanie (was she a big character? I didn't watch it...) Big Brother 2: Paul Big Brother 3: Tim (not really a big character, this is a slight exception) Big Brother 4: Nush (a big chacter compared to the others) But from Big Brother 5, the trend is more obvious: Big Brother 5: Victor Big Brother 6: Science Big Brother 7: Nikki Big Brother 8: Charley Perhaps it takes 8 weeks to get bored of the big character? |

Hey have you been stealing my theory from off of DS?
![]() I have mentioned the week 8 curse many times, fro BB5 onwards it's pretty clear but it was more of a personal curse to me because it was always my fave housemate that went on Week 8, Victor, Science and Nikki. And also those three housemates all had big fanbases and at one time or another where up their with the bookies and fans as faves to win, but in Week 8 they messed up, (Victors argument with Shell, Science's argument with Orlaith and Jaynes bigging up of Nikki making her bitchy and cocky). That curse was broken this year when Charley went, I didn't like her at all and she was never a huge favourite. But yeah a big character usually meets their downfall on Week 8. The early series don't count as much because Week 8 was pretty much the penultimate week. |

Hmm..I wonder if this applies for the US =/ Or if we have a cursed Week 8...
Week 8 (US): BB1: Brittany (Final 7) - Very Memorable for her crazy attitude and hair and feuding with Mega. BB2: Bunky (Final 5) - Pretty Annoying/Memorable for being a cry baby BB3: Roddy (Final 6) - Memorable for his cunningness, wit, and smarmy attitude BB4: Jee (Final 6) - Somewhat memorable for his season. BB5: Adria (Final 7) - Memorable for being a villain and one of the twins. BB6: James (Final 7) - Memorable for playing the sides against each other. BB7: Danielle and Chicken George (Final 6/5) - Both were incredibly memorable for being crazy, outrageous, and funny characters as well as Danielle's cunning abilities. BB8: ??? - We Shall see... |

How about Big Brother Australia:
Big Brother 2001: Anita (She was insane, there's a video of her on YouTube acting like she's on crack) Big Brother 2002: Nathan and Alex (both interesting characters, especially Nathan) Big Brother 2003: Kim and Saxon (they were both big characters) Big Brother 2004: Kane (didn't really think of him much) Big Brother 2005: Glenn (I hated him so much, but he was definitely a big personality) Big Brother 2006: Katie (Jamie should have gone, then Camilla would have won) Big Brother 2007: Laura (I wanted her or Zach to win, she was a great housemate) So I'd say that except in 2004, it holds in Australia. Something weird is going on. |
