Personally I couldn't distinguish whether Chanelle was serious or joking about it
He might have felt awkward and just laughed to ease any tension

I was laughing as well Don't know why Chanelle didn't find it funny. Obviously Isabelle didn't do it on purpose. It was a genuine mistake. One that I've done myself.

He's like this in real life. Just laughs off tension / silly arguments that don't really matter. Which is what the Chanelle/"Chantelle" thing was.
