I think she is just aware (and a bit paranoid) of how even the smallest thing can be taken that way and twisted, especially by the sisters. There are always tragic people ready to jump on racism as the answer to everything.

I think maybe that she was worried that she could be seen as belittling the Miss Nigeria Crown or something?

I think bc they talk about race a lot and she just felt Raph and Hannah are making a big deal out of this and kinda turning on her to make her look bad?
