Why the hell would anyone actually want to win Eurovision ?

Its good as a comedy show - the partisan voting is stunning to behold.

But as a showcase for music ?? - comparatively - Teletubbies have it beat hands down

'And how many people watch the Eurovision - in comparison to other music/song shows?' Eurovision is very popular and watched by a huge majority. It is a fantastic show which is very entertaining and comes up with loads of new material. I watch it every year, just like many, many others. Winning is everything to the singers. Also, the winning country gets to hold the show for the next year. That makes it very interesting and exciting.

The voting is a mess - Things have really changed over the years and it is [certain countries voting for the same certain countries] - but we are faced with a cloud over the United Kingdom and Tony Blair did the damage - 'Iraq.'

I would hardly call it, 'comedy', I would call the X-Factor auditions, 'comedy', but not Eurovision. The Teletubbies was a childrens programme and the song which they brought out was a success

Well then don't hold your breath on it being held in Britain any time soon - the Bloc countries have it sown up - until they can't afford to host it, then they'll quickly do a Father Ted and scupper themselves.

and yes, I do think the whole farcical thing is pure comedy gold.
It may well be important for the singers, but as they are all vacuos wannabes I would strain to care less.

I watch it for the unintentional humour of it, and cringe when the UK entry comes on. I can marvel in the utter garbage of all the others but the UK have been especially embarrassing of late - singing trolley dolly's for g*ds sake, and they looked and sounded nothing like "Aqua"

Our entrants can't even be original in their ineptitude. Then again, neither can the others, for instance Lordi were just a poor mans GWAR rip-off, but without the buckets of offal.

But lets be blunt, if the earth opened up in the middle of the show and swallowed up the whole lot of them, the world of music wouldn't mourn - it wouldn't even miss them

Is it a conspiracy that all the small countries such as, Serbia, ukraine etc, vote for each other as they used ot be one country?

I think it could be one big theory to not let England win anything.

What do you think?
ENGLAND CANT WIN THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST !!!!!! because england dosent enter it... Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland enter TOGETHER as The United Kingdom !!!!! it is so stubborn to think that england is the only country in the UK...... !!!!!

When Scottish MP's vote one way for Scots and another way in Westminster for the English - when it is the English who foot the bill for Scotland - the figures stunned me when I looked them up - the Union is finished, sooner rather than later.

It should be the Province of Northern Ireland, or Ulster

but anyway hopefully we will bring home the tile of eurovision champions from Belgrade, Serbia in 2008 !
