By BB7, Endemol was obviously becoming very tacky, by dishing out twists every week (Big Brotherhood, Golden Ticket, The Other House and Nikki going back in for the last week), that were very poorly executed...and it was obvious that the end was coming...
CBB5's racism row made BB go downhill, fast, I think that's the main reason why BB got killed (even though BB13-BB14 era was a revival of sorts)...had the racist scandal not have happened, I think the casting for everything post Jan 2007, would have been on par with BB6...
But I think removing the 24/7 live feed, and the outside contact (David and Lisa's double decker bus task), both taking place during BB10, really made the GP lose faith in BB, especially due to the producers breaking the fundamental rule of BB...

Nikki going back in wasn't a new thing, it had already been done with Jon Tickle in BB4.

The Shilpa situation was good for publicity as it was shown on every main news show.

The constant changing of format is the reason. Mass amount of changes each year.

IACGMOOH have pretty much stuck to the same format, and the show is still as good as it was in the first series. For reality shows, this one looks timeless, but mass changes every year would destroy it.

The Nikki thing was because she was elligible to win, and was more controversial than Jon

The Shilpa thing made people see Big Brother as dirty and unpleasant show that they wouldnt want to be seen watching

It is without doubt these two things and the BB8 All Female Launch that killed Big Brother.

People used to not admit they watched BB well before the Shilpa situation. It was seen as embarrassing well before that.

Probaby lost it's luster when they started putting reality and z listers in,instead of normal everyday people who are not known. That killed it for me anyway.

But in general it was a big show and everyone talked about it, CBB5 put people off and by BB8 no one was interested

CBB5, BBAUS6 and BB15US (possibly GH18 Spain), are the four most remembered BBs due to all the controversies surrounding it...

CBB5 for the obvious race row...
BBAUS 6 for the "Turkey Slap", "The Gretel Incident" and "Big Brother: Adults Only"
BB15US also for the racism
GH18 Spain for rape...

Can we stop dragging the all female launch as it’s one of the best launch night twists ever, it gave us amazing drama and entertainment along with legendary female housemates

It didn't work back then in 2007, but with good casting, I think it could work out next year!
