Default What if it was the opposite way around

If it was a theme like man power or something and it was all males going in, Emma not being allowed to present the launch, an all male audience on the main show and bots with a manly house manly music putting down women how would it go down because I know all the women would be kicking off

I do find it all a tad sexist I mean women getting the vote was about being equal in the first place not about women being better than men

I'm not a chauvinist pig and the girls are always my favourite on these shows but it does make me wonder the kick off if it was the other way around

Oh yeah OFCOM would be overfilling with complaints if it was the other way round.

That's the regular "celebrating women" consequences normally. Sometimes it can go to far into the men-shaming zone.
Some parts of this night felt a bit anti-male, but oh well, it's a very thin line...

I guess it was just 'a theme' and just an attempt to make it different...but I get your point.

I don't find the idea of it sexist, it's just celebrating something that happened in history, and it's important to remember, and remember the kinds of things previous generations fought for. There just isn't the equivalent for men, so it wouldn't happen the other way around or be seen in the same way. (That being said I do think it's all just a publicity stunt for ratings though )

They have missed the point entirely though the vote was all about women being equal but surely getting there own theme it sets them apart?

I think an all male theme would interesting. Maybe next time?

I don't see it as sexist any more than I see Black History Month as racist.

Yes well maybe the theme isn't sexist but there were a few odd remarks tonight that just instantly made me think if a man was saying that about a woman there would be an uproar. Tends to be the case though

But the fact they had to fight for that equality is what's being celebrated, that women pushed themselves forward and didn't just accept a lesser status. That's something women did that men have never had to do so in celebrating that part of our history it's going to be women that are celebrated and not men. They haven't been given the theme as a way of saying they are better than men, it's simply a way of celebrating a specific achievement in history.

the whole theme is just a facade anyway

nothing is being celebrated

no women will feel empowered by this series of cbb

Let's look at reality tv where women on the batchalor make tits of themselves to get a man....or to become famous if were being real. There's women in this series of cbb however who have been lured in under the pretence of it being about celebrating women being able to vote. The older celebs are going to click on as soon as the males enter and as said in a previous post I predict atleast 3 walkers. I Can see a cbb5 Race row though this time sexism row coming.

Just to add the crowd were all told to cheer giving the housemates a false sense of security.

My Dad turned to me and said, "i feel unwelcome, they are bashing males so much, should we just switch over?". He said it as a joke, but the show did reek with sexism IMO. It has NOTHING to do with the theme itself. It';s great they are doing this 100 year celebration, but the strong, "women are better than men", "women are superior" message is quite bad considering all the new stories about under 30 male suicide being on the up.It kind of makes males feel like ****. I felt excluded from the atmosphere, it was like watching a longer Loose Women episode,.

Now, imagine had a male in his VT said "well, men are superior to women".... how different that will go down.

It's just so hypocritical.

I.agree with what your saying. I think they should have at least let men into the audience. I get the theme, but i feel like as the op pointed out the vote was about equality for women not women being better then men. I heard a few sexist comments made during the live show by the women, like how men cant hold an interesting conversation, taking over the world from men, about not wanting to be a man if they come back in another life and vile comments about dangly bit between mens legs and that men are less educated then women. If men said things like that they would get so much stick.

Not in my lifetime. I don't think I know any man who thinks they are better than woman, if you are surrounded by them, you are surrounding yourselves with the wrong people.

It's extremely sexist, that's what I think, but I guess the show won't be affected by it because not a lot of men watch the show... which brings me to the question... does this not mean WOMEN watching this show are to blame? They are the ones booing every good looking female who enter, it aint the men.

So lets not pretend it's males. Female BB viewers eg. the crowd are quite scummy.... who hate any successful women,

If you don't think that men still run the world, fight the wars, make the decisions... then maybe it is not I who is surrounded by the wrong people.

You find it sexist. That's your right, I disagree. The rest of the stuff about women voting and the crowd being scummy... I can't really comment on who boos the loudest and who picks up the phone.
