I think most of the discussion has come about because of the differing views of Shane J/Ann and Shane J seeming to push his own agenda for votes in the fashionable PC climate of today and using Ann to do it in an underhand way.

As for the 14 yr old that he brought up who would be watching and could be damaged because of Ann? If that 14 yr old were to see Shane J enjoying himself and not giving a fook what anybody thought of him as Courtney, wouldn't that give a more positive, inspiring message than any whining and gossiping about an old lady and her outdated views?
I just can't accept this 'people are intolerant because others are PC' excuse. Blaming others for their words is simply pathetic.

Thats my understanding of the ****ed up system anyway. I may well be wrong.

Either way the rampant ageism on this forum and elsewhere is quite disgusting. Ageism (and misogyny) seems to be the only form of prejudice thats classed as widely acceptable, and even desirable in some cases
Great post Vicky, particularly on the ageism

Our pension funds were actually doing fine and working as expected up until fairly recently, and by that I mean that those paying paid for their own pensions as the money was invested and the return at the point of retirement was sufficient.

Two main events messed the system up completely. Firstly Gordon Brown saw a tasty wad of cash and decided to help himself to a heap of it and then the stock market crashed leaving just about every company in the country having to make up a shortfall, which many are still doing now, as it is a legal obligation. Livia was correct in that most pension money is in private companies with the state pension providing the statutory minimum (unless the pension scheme you are in completely opted out)

The only true net givers to the pension scheme are immigrants that work in the UK but don't remain in retirement. Everyone else pays for and receives a pension when they get to the appropriate age. So it's completely false that young are paying for the older generations pensions, they are just paying for their own.

4 people, not yourself admittedly did that today.
Just got at me,nothing to do with the thread.
That's sticking your oar in,I can't speak for Cherie as to if she welcomed that or not, however I certainly did not.
But isn't that just the cut and thrust of a forum, people do jump in and others follow.

It isn't just one sided by any means. I have had several posters at a time against my posts whilst not anything like on topic.

My advice is to take a break, move threads and their posts will be on the preceding page and another topical post will take their place. But you are a long term poster, I am sure you already know this.

Can I just add to this that even if you have a minimal private pension you will not get many benefits which you will with only the government one. You can be worse off.

Look joey, you try calling 4-6 people homophobes and you're gonna get it back. Even when you don't have the balls to say it straight out.

Sometimes the simple explanations are the best. This makes complete sense. "I'm only acting homophobic cos others are PC" does not.

I didn't invite comment if that is what you are implying, I can't control others input on the forum, nor would I want to

Going back to the topic of this thread, here is a link to an interview with Andrew in Gay Times

http://www.gaytimes.co.uk/culture/98...re-homophobic/

It contains swearing.
I'd post the actual full text but don't know if it is allowed.

If you can't handle people responding to you then maybe a forum isn't the best place because that is what will happen. You will say something that catches the eye and people will respond. It's not a private conversation.

I agree Joey. Ive brought up this new clique before. They just seem to go round spouting something vile and then patting each other on the back with emojis.

That isn't what I said. Many people here seem to have reached the point of being tired of PC being endlessly pushed at them at every opportunity, not at anything else. Do you really believe that some posters in this thread are homophobic? I don't. I think they are just getting fed up with the PC police holding forth with their holier than thou pontificating and being intolerant of anyone who doesn't think exactly like they do.
It has been pointed out over and over again in many threads here. What is so hard to understand about that?

Agreed. It’s a cop-out excuse for sure. Why would anybody change their opinion about a large group of people because a housemate and their fans have been annoying? It makes no sense whatsoever.

It has been pointed out over and over again in many threads here. What is so hard to understand about that?
Well this thread, for example, was originally just to show that Andrew has been supportive of lgbt for a long time, it shouldnt have appealed to too many really in the grand scheme of things, however it does seem to be a compulsive need for some to enter every lgbt thread so that they can complain. The thread wasnt created out of PCness, yet people come into the thread with their issues...

blaming PCness on their issue is futile, in the same way that "hi, im only PC cos i met a racist last week" is ****ing ridiculous, own your own words and views.

I would never claim somebody on tibb was homophobic unless I had an fault-proof reason to do so. I have only said that the same group of 5 or 6 seem to be deliberately portraying themselves in that way (and that is undeniably true whether they are homophobic or not). Passing the blame to others for their words seems to be a new thing that was first brought up today? Although paula explained how that didnt apply to her in a decent way.

What is the insulting part? Posting something vile would only apply to those that posts something vile, and patting each other on the back with emojis would only apply to those that do that. Im describing behaviour.. if the shoe fits, its descriptive, if it does not, its not aimed at you.

blaming PCness on their issue is futile, in the same way that "hi, im only PC cos i met a racist last week" is ****ing ridiculous, own your own words and views.

Maybe I've missed something, but all I can see are posters saying that everyone is entitled to their own views, not everyone is the same etc. I haven't seen anything that says to me 'wow that person is homophobic'.
