I really want to build one for my senior girl so she can get a bit more exercise and maybe some fresh air? She can't do other cats and she used to be an apt cat so she wouldn't know how to get back if she did legit roam...

I put her on grain free feed because she was having stomach issues, and now she's like a young cat again... is super playful when bored and won't leave us alone. Has taken to jumping onto of everything to get attention and also to "hang out".

I'm thinking about building her a little perch with ladder/stairs that go over my comp so she can swat at me from there instead of crowding my monitors. But also want to somehow modify my home so she can go outside without getting lost...

I've been getting into woodworking and working on stuff outdoors in my own time, so trying to think of where a system would fit best outdoors... maybe set it up with planters w a small rock garden?

Very nice I thought of starting somewhere simple like this. Mine has a terrible habit of eating grass when she gets out for a few minutes and then comes back in and chucks it up... I'm thinking of looking up cat friendly species and having it inside so she can still get her some nice herb .

My home is brick veneer, so it'd probably have to be a window exit... but I have a family member who put in a dryer vent through our brick, so maybe they can drill a hole in the garage someplace so she can exit through there to an enclosure

Why don't you get her a lead and take her out for a walk

We used to have something similar for the greyhounds we rehome when they retire, a dog run going down the length of the garden <3

She is too headstrong for that, like her mother She doesn't even like to be held really and petted for long periods of time. But will jump on top of my husband and lay across him, but I suspect that has more to do with him being a walking space heater and having a big enough chest to make a comfortable warm climate zone... but I think that's because she's taught us not to tamper much with her when she's being physically affectionate

Yeah I have a 5yo black lab pit mix and and a 3yr chi mix. They are both very social and she likes to sometimes head butt them like "hey man"... but I can tell she'd like her own area where she can still be somewhat entertained by our activities and socialize as a voyeur, because they do like to involve her even when she's not interested...

Eddie is the opposite, he's so affectionate and loves being carried around like a Lord. When he sits on you he tries to get as close to your face possible, he's a huge cat as well so it's a bit awkward
