I'm sick to death of the Media and sections of the public that moan about people daring to critique and demand standards within society/certain fields of entertainment, because if you dare to not watch your P & Q's you'll be accused of one of three things.

1. Some form of prejudice.

2. To use Gary Neville's term, it's "dangerous" as he is clearly insinuating that Arteta could incite a lunatic to start attacking the Referee, thus trying to shutdown any criticism of the Referee's performance during the match.

3. Think of the Referee's "Mental Health" which I think is a real low blow when I have seen people use this argument, because these people are taking an extremely serious situation that a lot of people genuinely go through, just to stop Arteta or anyone else from saying that the Referee and VAR were awful, and that Stevie Wonder would've been better (I've added that part in) Arteta isn't stupid enough to say something like that, unlike myself.

But my point stands that using Mental Health arguments to stop critique of a Referee is really low imo, and the same goes in other fields where Celebrities and their fans try to guilt trip their detractors into not criticizing them because they've got "poor Mental Health" which is really code for "I've got a huge ego and can't handle criticism."

Society and the Media both need to have a long hard look at themselves here when it comes to critique, because imo there's a huge difference between critique and verbal abuse being aimed at someone, sadly though some people can't tell the difference between the two going by how Arteta's common sense critique is now so controversial to say.
