Because the only way to describe his behaviour is that he is playing the game by character assassination. His 'bitching' generally includes inordinate conspiracy theories about the motives of Kat, Rachel, Darnell and Rex. He is so detached from the reality of essentially
all of his observations it is incredible.
He gets away with it because he is over the top, quick witted and genuinely funny. If he was sour-faced, petulant and boring with it he'd be detested.
